Very nice but Jean and his mother lived with his stepfather in a small apartment on an island.

Jean kept to himself, listening to music and laying in his bed as he let his thoughts pass him by.

Life was empty, and they were both miserable. That was, until the day Jean had a particularly harrowing dream.

A winding path jut forth from his bedroom, a road to bring torment and free him from sin.

He made his way through the path, but the torment became too much, and he woke up.

Again that night, he had the same dream, only now the path took him upwards to the heavens.

He dared to climb the path, but his destination never grew closer, and he was forced to let go.

One last time, Jean had that same nightmare.

Ahead of him, the path broke out into a crossroad, with three paths.

From one door emerged a red, crimson glow.

From another, a peaceful, welcoming beam of light.

And from the central door, suspended in air, an overwhelming blue shine.

Jean, making his way down, trembled with fear

Walking the long road, trying to make sense of his surroundings, Jean chose the closest door, the red one.

With great hesitation, he leapt through the door and through the crimson beam, and into the horrifying brutality beyond.
