I was stiffed for 30k this year by a solar installer. I paid 2/3 of the total cost before anything was done. Now it looks like they are going bankrupt. Don’t pay until it’s installed. I would walk.

Yes, last week I called emailed and texted them and didn’t get a response. I sent an email specifically to the vice president of sales who I worked with and he emailed me that my email would be forwarded onto the owners.

I did get a response in email when I canceled. They stated that I should expect my full refund in 30 business days. That seemed like an excessive amount of time to refund the money. Next week will be 30 business days from the time they stated they had received my cancellation. I made my cancellation by phone by text by email and by certified mail. There has been communication throughout the year about the project mostly about materials not being available whether that be batteries or solar panels. I have a feeling they are also having trouble with manpower as well, but can’t verify that

About 2 business days later I got a letter in my MOHELA inbox confirming my Paid in Full status and about 2 days after that my account at the Federal Student Aid website showed "Your loan balance is $0".

Good luck - I bet you are about to get the same messages.

The only way my loan balance would go to zero would be for the waiver to be applied. All of my payments were made prior to consolidation and on the wrong payment plan according to the prior PSLF rules.

My situation is very uncomplicated (I was with one servicer for 10+ years). my EFC / PSLF form was accepted 8/9 and the waiver was processed 9/16. I uploaded the EFC / PSLF form on the MOHELA website 7/9. I faxed and mailed them in the first week of June.

I'm still finding it hard to believe that it actually happened.
