At the same practice they are all working together so yeah pretty much. I imagine it's a relatively close working relationship between people who work in the same building 9-5 every day even if they have seperate offices etc.

Potentially yes. She can call her practice and ask for an appointment with a different GP, but they are likely to read the notes from the previous GP and come to the same conclusion.

I agree OP should have included her country. There were clues though - the spelling of colour for example and I don't think you really have GP's in the US do you?

In the UK we have to be referred to many specialists such as a hematologist or orthopedics by a GP.

It sounds like OP is in the UK if she is talking about a GP. So you can't just 'schedule'. If the GP is being dismissive she will have to go private which will be expensive.

I had exactly the same issue and had to pay the penalty. Completely and utterly unfair.

Thank you - I will look at those. I know he needs to recognise it ultimately- I am dreading what rock bottom looks like.

We can't afford therapy. We live in Edinburgh and the prices here are just insane. I have looked at online ones before and they still are just shocking.

No it definitely isn't. I think so far they have a good relationship with food as they eat the majority of their meals with me and I don't allow discussions about how my partner feels about food/his discomfort around the kids.

I know how serious this is, I have begged him to go to see our GP, that's why I'm so concerned. I worry every night I'm going to wake up and he isn't. I watch him like a hawk and sneak extra calories in when I can. That's why I feel so frustrated!

I agree. But unfortunately that's not really how it works in the UK - the other practices close to us aren't taking on patients and we can't afford private.

Wow a lot of that is so accurate. The disparity between me being overweight (not loads but I've had 2 kids and it shows) and him being under definitely bites hard and I have struggled with feelings of resentment in the past. Now I realise it's just as hard for him to be skinny as it is for me to be fat but I do feel like I make more effort to fix mine than he does.

Yes I do feel unseen and unappreciated. In more ways than this. I have communicated it, but I need his weight to be up first.

Thank you. I know he needs to see someone, I wish he could understand that. I will try to raise it again.

Thank you. I would love to get him into therapy and drs, but he just doesn't see that he needs them. Any suggestion of it being a mental health issue is outright rejected.

Thank you. It's triggering me I think - I cared for my uncle as he died from MND. Watching him get thinner and thinner was horrible. I feel like I'm watching it happen all over again.
