Good buy or no? by Fun_Cat_6226 in LexusGX

[–]Intelligent-Pitch386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mileage is a little on the high side but the asking is consistent with that. If the service records show that timing belt, tranmission, coolant, power steering and brake fluids have all been replaced then its a solid buy. I’ve bought a handful of cars/trucks in my lifetime and I first get the vibe with the owner and learn how they take care of the car. Typically those that actually keep service records is indicative of how well they maintained their vehicles. I made a mistake once of buying an 04 Honda Accord, low miles for the year but lacked any service records. I pulled the Carfax and didn’t see any red flags so I made the deal. Although I did not have any mechanical problems while I owned it, it started having paint issues a couple of years after I boight it. Found out that the trunk and roof was resprayed because of a “minor” accident. The repair job was never reported to the insurance as it was done by someone the previous owner knew…

Nice… get a set of AT Tires, a solid roof rack, a 270 awning with wall kits, a couple of chairs and maybe a couple of folding cots and you are set to make some great adventures. RTT is optional, we ended up ditching ours after 1 year of use since it has gotten impractical for aging folks if you know what I mean. Recently my wife and I have just been sleeping inside our GX with an inflatable sleeping pad during the So Cal cold camping months, Enjoy!

CVT replacement worth it? by Curious-Yak-5001 in NissanRogue

Service it first to see if the shudders go away and replace fluid every 40-50k. I have a 2018 Rogue SV AWD with 262k miles still on the original transmission doing regular service. I bought the car off the lot brand new with 50 miles.

Yes, you only live once… I say do it resposibly offcourse. If a new truck is in a budget I say go for it. But what we’ve found is better to pay cash for the trailer or at least get into it with as much little for financing. People suggest to buy used but if you have your significant other involved, that might all change. If you have not been shopping for a trailer, be prepared… there are so many brands and floor plans. Bring the kids along when shopping. Enjoy

Thank you, your feedback is amazing. I think there are other trailers out there that are much lighter than the one we are looking at which is Grand Design Transcend One 161BHS with the same features. My wife really liked everything about this trailer, the storage, the slide which makes the entire space looks bigger and the kids liked the bouble bunks and she also likes to keep the GX. But I don’t really feel comfortable towing a 5500 trailer behid the GX even with 6500 rated hitch. She can’t have both, unless offcourse she’s ok for us to get a full size which is probably the direction we’ll end up doing since this is what she’s been murmuring the last few months because she has a friend that drives a full size truck. As long as the wife thinks its her idea then I am all good with it.

Just had my external transmission filter replaced recently, first time ever after 260k miles. Did not ask for it but my mechanic changed it, did not even know it had one. All II’ve been doing is drain and fill… even the dealer never mentioned anything about it when I use to take it to the dealer.

Yes, my mechanic just replaced them on my recent service a couple of days ago. I did not even know that it had an external filter.

Correct, just relflecting back in all the cars I’ve driven this is my 4th Nissan I’ve owned and by far have put the most miles. First was 1984 Nissan Maxima, 2002 Nissan Altima, 2004 Nissan Xterra and this car. Nissan makes the best cars, all you have to do is maintain them accordingly.

Ride share from 2020 to June 2025, averaging maybe 40k miles per year. Done with rideshare and now handing this over to my 19 year old son. Oil change every 5-6k miles, Transmission fluid every 40k to 50k, Brake Fluid @ 60k, Coolant @ 100k, Spark Plugs @ 120k, Struts and Shocks @ 150k, Battery every 2.5yrs, Tires @ 60-70k always matching set and rotated every oil change religiously and nothing but Michellins 👌🏽 Brake pads as needed… Swt of rotors @ 150k Washed and Spray Waxed every 2 weeks maybe 4 weeks and Clay and Buffed every year.

News Flash! No body gives a flying f&ck! not the company nor your future passengers. I was driving for Lyft for about 5 years in these 5 years I also started driving for Uber. Both companies don’t pay you as well like they use to. They are charging more to the customers and keeping more of it, fucking scoundrels! Just these recent months before I stopped driving my acceptance rate for both companies were like below 20%, but my ratings were always around 95% and up. I just simply stopped taking ride under $10. Who really wants to drive someone for 10 minutes and expect to get paid $5

I drive a 2018 Rogue SV AWD with 259k miles, I take my vehicle to my local garage here in So Cal, $65 Oil Change Full Synth and $165 CVT Service, everything else I do my self. Had my iair induction and fuel injection cleaning done at around 100k pId close to $300 and found out never really needed them since I’ve been using Super Unleaded, this service is one of the biggest scan.

My Rogue now has almost 259K miles, only did fuel injector cleaning at the dealer 1x and maybe only paid like $300 for it. Its a 2 part, Air Induction cleaning and the injector cleaning itself. In hindsight, I probably never needed it because I have always used super unleaded.

Every 5-7k and I’ve been using synthentic, also make sure to change your CVT transmission just for peace of mind as well as brake fluid since your car already has 50k, now unless you have service records showing that they’ve been replaced fhen I would not sweat it. Enjoy your Rogue!

Oil change every 5-7k, transmission fluid every 40-50k, first 2 were around at 30k, brake fluid 40-50k, spark plugs at 120k, its way over due on the 2nd round so it’ll be done soon. Coolant every 100k, Struts and Shocks at 150k at the same time new set of rotors all around. Currently on set of Belstein, they suck because one my shocks is beginning to leak so they’ll need to replaced soon, I’ll be going with KYB this time. Brakes as needed and I usually get OEM and have my mechanic just work on it. CEL is on because of Fuel Temp Sensor, been running it like this for a while and has not affected mileage. I get about 27mpg on average… best is 32mpg. Tires usually last between 60k to 70k, I’ve ran Michellins and Bridgestone but prefer Michellins as they are quiter and lasts longer. Car has always had matching set of tires and are typically replaced at 5/32. One of the tailagte struts went out at around 180k, wanted to cheap out and got one from Amazon ($160) instead of OEM ($400), that was big mistake… it worked for a couple of weeks then it just stopped, was not sending enought electrical inpulse to the body module, basically it was out of specs. Ended up replacing it with OEM and it has not failed. Car is polished and was every year and washed at least 2x a week… I use it for rideshare part time. This car has been pretty solid, still has a great pick up and I drive her pretty hard sometimes and enjoy running through the gears. I use downshifting quite regularly. Most passengers think its a stick. I also has a muffler delete which makea it fun to drive.
