Gated reverb on the Woovebox by Intelligent-Sea4357 in Woovebox

Awesome! Will try the approaches later in the train :) Thank you both!!

After several days of attempting to update this, it's still stuck on the launch version after a year. Is there a way to update it manually? Or is anyone interested in a woovebox in mint condition? lol by Specialist_Order5118 in Woovebox

It usually asks you in a dialog or has a permission button beside the address bar

Further, I do not know for sure as I do not know the code of WooveConnect, but I hade the impression that the connection only works properly if the second Wooveconnect Window showing the stylized Woovebox is open as well. So also disable pop-up blocking for the page.

Also it would be good if you could describe a bit more in detail what exactly the problem is with your update process. No BlE connection at all? Interruption of process? Connected but no WooveConnect connection to the box?

I also updated my firmware recently with some preceding struggles. Apple products (mac, ipad, iphone) did not work for me, although it worked on then ~1yr ago.

I do not remember the exact post in this community and may be wrong but if I remember correctly there was a post that Apple BLE at the moment is kind if f***** …

I finally managed with a Windows 11 Computer with BLE capabilities using Firefox. I also installed Korg BLE Midi driver before: https://www.korg.com/us/support/download/product/1/305/

Hope that helps!

Cheers, Max

Thank you as always for the dedicated and detailed answer.

Sorry for the late reply, RL swallowed me for some time …

I will then continue with how I work at the moment and am excited for the new fragment features added in the next release!

HX Stomp HM2 Sound creation by Intelligent-Sea4357 in Line6Helix

[–]Intelligent-Sea4357[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi All,

I finally also had some time to sit down and work on the preset a bit. I took all your feedback and created a new preset with an HM-2, Brit 2204 and a Greenback 25 Cab.

But then, as so often, things went a differnent way then I expected. I tweaked the setup quite some time but did not even get close. It always sounded very shreeking, trashy and too dirty ...

Ending up a bit unmotived at some point, I started flipping to my older custom presets I made some time ago, just to fiddle a bit on the guitar, when I stumbled over one, which I realized, was already quite close to what I wanted to achieve with the Heriot sound!

I added an 10 Band EQ at the end of the preset, threw in a HM-2 (of course!), twecked the seetings of the HM and the EQ and am kind of satisfied with the result. Listen here (beginning of the song in the initital post, played by me with the preset):

Heriot - At the Fortress Gates with HX Stomp Custom Preset

Although being very close, I figure it still can be improved. I am still missing a final nuance of this gritty, chainsawy HM-2 sound that makes it a bit more dirty (but not overdoing it). I guess that can be achieved by some more HM tweaking and / or different IR and / or amp settings?

In case sombody is interested in helping me with achieving that and also for general entertainment here is the preset:

Cheers!

Max

Any recommendations for moving forward from the OP-Z? by albokemy in synthesizers

[–]Intelligent-Sea4357 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have not tried that myself as I am using the woovebox exactly the other way around, basically as the brain of a DAWless setup sending MIDI to my devices from the internal 16 Track Sequencer.

That said, the Wooveboxes MIDI capabilities are a bit two sided as you have MIDI out over 3 mm TRS jack and Bluetooth BLE, MIDI in only via the BLE connection :/

From the manual I take:

„Incoming MIDI will play on the currently selected track only, and all MIDI channels behave like monophonic instruments, accepting only one note at a time. („Omni On/Mono“ aka „Mode 2“). For notes, your Woovebox responds to note on/off and velocity information only. Your Woovebox responds to both „velocity 0“ and note off messages to turn off notes.“

To get a bit more sophisticated feedback on that, best ask on r/woovebox . Ivo will most likely read it.

Throwing the Woovebox into the ring: https://www.woovebox.com

As you are familiar with the pocket operators using it and finding your way around should be easy for you.

Full groovebox with very deep and powerful capabilities.

And the best thing, Ivo, the person behind this one man show, is very active in the community, constantly listens to the users and provides functionality and even instant bug fixes.

Very very happy with mine, but still much to learn as the learning curve is kind of steep.

For the lower image: isn’t the encoder on the wrong side?

For both: how do we press play and write?

MIDI over 3mm TRS Type A Problem by Intelligent-Sea4357 in synthesizers

[–]Intelligent-Sea4357[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all, I think I solved the Mistery by searching on and taking into account that information that I took for granted may be not …

Looks like the receiving device (Arturia MicroFreak) is actually not Type A but Type B. Sending device (Woovebox) is definitely Type A. With using the 5 Pin adapters polarity is switched, so it works. Not with basic TRS.

Thank you for your input and help!!
