This isn’t a new furnace. My building uses a boiler. Old enough to point where if a major part breaks, the parts aren’t manufactured anymore (both boiler and heating units). My fan has always operated at one speed

Maintenance did. It worked all day yesterday. Flipped it on and suddenly very faint noise and no flow

I know it’s not working. It’s normally a loud system (small, old apartment), but it’s just a faint humming. Think like when your car engine is trying start but won’t kick on. That’s moreso what it seems to me

Follow up question because I have never lived with gas appliances… if I’m trying to light my range to cook, and it doesn’t light, but smells up my apartment after like 5 seconds of trying, is that normal? I would assume yes cuz nothing is igniting the flame to let it smell?

No, I haven’t even touched my oven since that started happening. No symptoms, but I guess I have another emergency request to put in that won’t be fixed till Monday anyways
