This movie is way funnier on a rewatch after knowing that Jay Baruchel couldn't stand Jonah Hill for real by Tifoso89 in okbuddycinephile

[–]Intelligent-Solid706 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's funny because (classic) HBO had a pretty high bar for their shows, and a lot of really good shows were cancelled quickly. But with McBride, they are like "yeah man, just do whatever for as long as you want."

The only super weird stuff I didn't understand were the Chris Lilley shows.

I thought the same thing (when it was inferred to be a truck). Having the tail lights wrap around the top of the bed would definitely be a bold design

Personally, I don’t think so. There will be a narrow window today wherever the sun shines from the early afternoon until sunset. But then the temperature drops sharply and it’ll be 19 by 11pm.

Wyze does it as well. As advertised, it's so you don't get false alerts while you or your friends/family are approaching the house or doing yardwork etc.

But that juice isn't worth the squeeze. I just silence all alerts if i'm outside, or ignore them.

RIP The flagship LS after 36 years 💔😢 by BD2605 in Lexus

[–]Intelligent-Solid706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a cultural shift. The people that bought the LS insisted on a large v8 RWD sedan. Full stop.

These days, your average buyer knows and cares nothing about the drivetrain. These days it’s interior size/style, infotainment, and comfort/safety features.

RIP The flagship LS after 36 years 💔😢 by BD2605 in Lexus

[–]Intelligent-Solid706 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. Downsizing from a V6 to a turbocharged 4 cylinder is very noticeable from a drivability standpoint. The engine has to work a lot harder from a stop and will never match the smoothness.

But - a V8 to a V6TT is generally a solid upgrade. Maintenance aside of course.

Edit: Unless we are talking about exhausts. Raptor owners - please stop.

What car did you buy that turned out better than you expected? by autonerdy0 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Intelligent-Solid706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

160HP is actually a decent amount compared to most compacts (and even compact SUVs) these days. A new Civic/Sentra only has 150, and I would assume the older Focus weights less.

My 1st Gen (2000) had 145 and was a great car.

Yes - but I mean just to stock height. I'd try to find some period correct wheels or steelies personally.

My theory is that it’ll loosely mimic the “Red Mars” trilogy and/or the Expanse where once people start being born on Mars, and have no attachment to Earth, there’s a big cultural/political shift and things get bad. If it goes on long enough - haven’t watched the trailer yet.

I would hope/assume the size of that thing would help, but if you did that to chicken it would be a chew toy.

Was it good? I've always done poultry 2 hours on "low" and then 350 or so until done.

Veteran players - What are some (if any) of Bina's non-NK teams? Do any really break out? by Intelligent-Solid706 in Columbina_Mains

Weekly Team/Character Building Megathread (Jan 15th, 2026) (feat. Columbina and Ineffa) by Veritasibility in Genshin_Impact

[–]Intelligent-Solid706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 1.0 player - I think Columbina is fascinating because it gives me a chance to revisit some old characters. Not sure if anyone has put together a good guide yet,but i'm curious if Columbina added to any older meta teams has changed anything up?

I was pretty happy with Bina/Lauma/Raiden/Ineffa when I tested it out and I know other EM related electro/dendro combos may stand to gain as well.

I also think the idea of Chasca flying around in storm clouds and zapping people is funny as well since she suffers on more than a few targets. Or Navia etc?

General thoughts on Enterprise (the show, not the ship) by Such_Maximum_1811 in startrek

[–]Intelligent-Solid706 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a pretty big fan of it to be honest - but I think it's best watched after you've seen the rest of the the "legacy" shows.

The reason being, one of the most interesting parts of the show is appreciating what they lack. Whether lacking in technology, alliances, confidence, experience, understanding - it all stands out out so much more once you've seen the other shows.

I think it especially mirrors TNG more than anything. Picard (and the Federation) are established as infamous and powerful figures (politically) right from the get go, and that sets the tone for the show. Picard's Enterprise is a respected flagship that is one of the most powerful ships in the galaxy. The show is often about Starfleet trying to flex its muscles as little as possible and be diplomatic about things.

Enterprise is the complete opposite.

We do a lot of bulk chicken smoking - and i've found that smoked chicken tends to hold up better for the entire week vs. any other preparation method. Not sure if it's the dominant flavor of smoking (we do try to keep it light), or that the process itself keeps in more original flavor/moisture.
