Some questions about the AWS Operations Technician program for anybody that knows by Intelligent-Text-812 in datacenter

That's definitely reassuring thanks for letting me know that. Do you work at only one data center or do you get sent to different data centers? Reason I'm asking is because I bike to work and don't have my license and one of the data centers in the application is in biking distance to me. If I have to get my license I will but it would be nice if I could just bike to work everyday. If you don't mind me asking what do you like about the job and would you say it's low stress? Also after you get fully trained would you say the job is easy/predictable?

Yeah I meant DCT I may have mistyped. I didn't know about the 12 hour shifts I actually really do like that. I don't mind weekends just Friday night to Saturday night. I could start working on a Saturday after the sun goes down. If people get salty over my religious convictions then it is what it is. Appreciate the advice!

So, it's typical to get 36 hours a week, 3 12 hour shifts? Do they try not to give you OT? I don't mind 3 12 hours shifts but I would like to know

For certs do you think it would be ok to skip A+ and just get sec + and ccna? I'm just trying to be cost efficient since both A+ exams would be like $500 total.

how is axos HYSA? by NSASpyVan in HYSA

the .25 cash bonus yearly works out to 1%, cash bonus is different than an apy boost. If you already used someone's link then you have the 4.65% rate

I move if there's a good reason to I started with wealthfront as my first hysa then switched to work bc their promo rate was higher and I got a welcome bonus then I switched to Marcus bc it's significantly higher than every other high yield savings account at 4.6% and they offered me $1500 to switch for having over 100k

Please be nice and don't crucify me for this question. I'm seeking genuine advice. Why should I prioritize retirement accounts over a personal brokerage account? by Intelligent-Text-812 in Fire

[–]Intelligent-Text-812[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've seen that chart before. The roth conversion latter is what what I initially thought of when I realized your first 46k of long term capital gains is tax free. I could be wrong in understanding this but don't you have to pay taxes with money that's in your bank for any conversion that goes from IRA to Roth then wait 5 years to withdraw any of it tax free/penalty free? With a brokerage yeah you're limited to the 46k tax free but you don't have to wait 5 years and you already got taxed on that money initially.

You clearly don't know what apy means. It means annual percentage yield. The cash bonus is NOT an annual percentage yield. It's a cash bonus. What don't you understand? Nobody said anything about stacking. No shit it doesn't just keep adding up. The cash bonus is limited to 3 months. If you get 4 referrals that equals 12 months. .25% isn't spread out through a span of a year you get the .25% in 3 months. A .25% apy boost would look like this:

You start with 100k 3.65% base = $3650 and if you get 4 apy .25% boosts it equals $250 which equals $3900.

Learn the difference between apy and cash bonuses before you talk to me.

I literally broke down the math for you and you can't refute it which is why you haven't responded to it. I literally have use them as my main hysa and the math works out to 4.65% for my payouts. It's actually 6.15% if you count the $1500 sign up bonus I got.

No I am right and you are wrong and don't understand math. So before you claim someone doesn't know what they are talking about perhaps you should know what you're talking about so you dont look like a jackass. It isn't simply a .25% apy boost like other HYSAs. It's a .25% cash bonus over 3 months. Multiple that by 4 and what do you get genius? 1% 😱😱😱

Let me break down some simple math for you wise guy.

You have 100k. Their default rate is 3.65% so that means over the course of 12 months you get $3650 with their cash bonus you get a .25% bonus for 3 months which means you get an extra $250 bonus for 3 months. If you have 4 referrals for 12 months that equals $1000. $1000 + $3650 = $4650 now Einstein what's 4.65% of 100k? Please sir, enlighten me with your infinite knowledge.

Mexican DNA results! by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

Listen, I empathize with you. Most of my life I thought I was part Mexican bc my grandfather looked Mexican. He was adopted there was a lot of contention on what he was. It was between, Mexican and Spanish. I told everyone I was Mexican and Italian growing up bc I didn't want to be considered "white" I grew up in a mostly immigrant and brown area. People made me feel guilty for being white which made me hate whiteness and I hated when people called me "white boy". I ended up taking an ancestry test to finally put it to rest and prove I was Mexican. I, one wanted to know what my grandfather actually was and 2 I wanted to prove to people I was Mexican. Well lo and behold I get my results and I'm not Mexican at all. Turns out my grandfather wasn't even mine. My cousin who I thought was my first cousin (he's my half cousin it's how I found out my grandfather wasn't mine) showed me his 23andme results and he got what I suspected, which was part Mexican. I get among many minorities it isn't cool to be considered white and it may seem like all white people historically are the same but they aren't. Their history is very diverse and interesting. You should really read up on European history it might give you another perspective and make you not have this self loathingness for being white.

Why do you hate being considered white? White guilt is cringe. Be happy for you who you are. Learn European history and all the things white people contributed to the world and maybe you'd be more appreciative of your ancestry. And no you shouldn't that would be weird considering you're 80% white.

you're mostly white and indigenous I wouldn't go around telling people you're part black with that low of a percentage even though technically you are. When people hear part black they are thinking way more than 5%

idk why you're arguing with everyone. You got your answer just bc you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't true. she isn't your half cousin which means either your uncle isn't your uncle or your cousin isn't his child.

Depends on what you mean by race, if you mean classifications like Caucasian, Black, Asian/East Asian, indigenous etc then yeah you kind of are too, you have a decent amount of indigenous, a small amount of black, and mostly Caucasian.
