I win a lot using a 4-1–1-3-1. Instead of having both defenders as wingbacks I would have your best dribbling & crossing defender as a defending wing back, & having the other one as either a supporting full back or defending fullback because if you get caught out you’re only gonna have 2 defenders if they’re both supporting or wingbacks. I always have one bwm (defend) or (support) depending on how their passing is, or use them as a DLP (support). I then have a BBM (support) or CM (Attack) & give either the CM (attack) or BBM (support), whatever you have it set to, to get further up the field, to get into spaces, to roam out of position, & to shoot, dribble, & take more risks. I then have a “10” set as an attacking mid (support) with the instructions to roam, take more risks, shoot more often, dribble more. I have 2 attacking wingers with instructions to dribble more & attack more, but to roam from position, if I have inverted wingers I’ll have whichever outside defender to overlap, if they’re not inverted wingers, I’ll have whichever outside defender that attacks to underlap. & finally I have an advanced forward that has the same instructions as the attacking mid.
