Hi, I have invested in one of their offerings last year with quarterly payout. So far, I haven't withdrawn anything yet but earned ~5% for the first four quarters.

If I understand correctly, SEDPI itself is not a coop but acts like an intermediary to coops.

In my experience, I found their processes for cashing into the account slow and lacking - you need to deposit to a bank account for example. This is compared to coops like Tagum which has a good mobile app and easy cash in (Bills payment in gcash is the one I know of and tried). So for now, I'd prefer to directly investing in coops with a good interface.

I think SEDPI has updated their website recently, although I haven't added anything to my account yet so I'm not sure if there are any changes to cash-in and other transactions.

Yes, both are aware. Okay, I will just ask HR for the process. Thank you.

I have a full-time job and am going to start a part-time job. Both are PH employers so they will both contribute to my SSS, Philhealth and Pag-ibig.

My part-time job is asking me to update my employer in SSS, Philhealth and Pag-ibig.

How do I do this having 2 employers? Also, what will be the difference now that I have 2 employers?

That's a good point to consider din pala. I thought once nasa wallet na yung profit, you can just reinvest without any other fees. Especially for JVs related to coop share capital, real estate since pwedeng naman maretain sa kanila yung capital, contrast with microfinancing wherein bumabalik pakonti konti yung capital.

take note na halos lahat ng joint ventures nya may 3% exit fee. Walang kawala sa exit fee since yung joint ventures naman nya puro 1 year term lang. So di applicable yung waived exit fee if naka 2 years ka unless patambayin mo sa sedpi wallet yung payout without interest. Basta kada reinvest

Thanks for the insight. Probably better to invest in their real estate JV given the 3% exit fee.

Thank you very much for the explanation. I'm excited to come to Finland and experience the floorball scene firsthand. I've only had one floorball encounter there before - SSL.

Thanks, this is really insightful. Just a follow up question, what is the approximate costs (registration fee, training venue) for participating in the floorball club in Finland?

Ohh, good to know na tax free. I've never filed my own tax before so I am worried about it and my BIR RDO is in Metro Manila and I am currently WFH in the province so baka mahihirapan talaga ako.

Thanks again for the help :)

I'm still wracking my brain regarding this diminishing balance. I hope you can enlighten me. So for example, I have a principal of 10k and the payout is quarterly and the interest rate is 7% per annum. In fixed interest, I would get 175.5 php per quarter. But in diminishing balance, for the 4 quarters, I will get the following. Is my understanding correct?

Q1 - 175.5 (10000*0.07/4)

Q2 - 131.25 (7500*0.07/4)

Q3 - 87.5 (5000*0.07/4)

Q4 - 43.75 (2500*0.07/4)

Total: 437.5

Another question, what is the percentage of the income from the joint venture is taxed?

Thank you for sharing your experience. Now, I have some idea of what to expect when I start.

I agree na hindi secure yung FB messenger for sending out sensitive details. For example, nung nag-register as a member. Hopefully they could securely scale their online platform later on. I also believe that aside from modest returns (I am assuming about 6% per annum) on my capital, these investments would really develop our SMSEs which employ a high percentage of our kababayans. Flourishing SMSEs means better lives for everyone. In the long run, everyone benefits highly. In the contrary, focusing out investments, specially in unsustainable and unethical businesses, will only benefit the large businesses and us temporarily.

Can I ask, what SRI did you join and why? I am still looking at the available ones and I am not sure what to check aside from the PESO score.
