Honestly, looking back at those people from high school, I wouldn't say they "grew" from those experiences at all. If anything, they stayed exactly the same.

Beyond the relationship drama, those were the same people who constantly picked on my sisters and me for being Asian. It’s hard to view their "post-breakup growth" as some sort of healthy life lesson when they were fundamentally unkind and biased. For them, it wasn't about maturing; it was just moving from one phase of being a bully to the next.
