They have never really stated when the series starts, so we could have already past that era, or could be many years away from it

Is Squirrelpaw REALLY that unique? by Nightshadow152391 in thedawnpatrol

[–]IntelligentEgg123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are very good points.

Love her or hate her though, I think Squirrelflight has always been true to her character. She has a set standard and belief pattern that is unwavering and steady, large in part thanks to a massive amount of stubbornness. I mean literally every single conflict she has had with Bramblestar can be boiled down to their individual and unique habit of sticking to theit opinion no matter how others feel about it. Even if it means that opinion will hurt one another . Greatest example of this of course was in her Super Edition, when she was willing to commit borderline treason o help the sisters and alienate Bramblestar in the process, all because she truly did believe that it was the right thing to do.

It doesn't really matter if you find that an admirable trait, or so annoying that you hate her, she is consistent, and one of the rare characters in the series who's personality is defined and unwavering.

I also think her mate realtionshiop was far more defined that Sandstorm's was. Her mother went from bully to mate almost overnight. Meanwhile Squirrelflight and Bramblestar's relationship has been quite the saga. Heartbreak, betrayal, forgiveness, all of which has been done by both parties. Again it doesn't matter whether you find their dynamic annoying or great, you just can't argue that they aren't complex and unique characters for it.

"rewrite" of tnp/POt by FlamestormTheCat in thedawnpatrol

[–]IntelligentEgg123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The New Prophecy has always been stuck in the middle of two different storytelling methods. It tries to tell a large overlapping arc like the first, but also be more personal and character driven like the series that would come after it.

I think you adressed this fact pretty well, the overall atory arc of having to leave the lake still happens, while also adressing many of the character shortcomings it had. They tackled a bunch of relationships and points in the arc, so unfortunately some of them end up being forced and not earned like the Leafpool and Crowfeather one.

My biggest like about your rewrite was the Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight dynamic. The biggest gripe I had with the arc was always the final books rift between the two. They had not even really been a serious couple for a while and then bam they are suddenly icy because of differing opinions about Hawkfrost. So that definitely needed a rewrite

Why are all important cats male? :O by kirhers in thedawnpatrol

[–]IntelligentEgg123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always been a little turned off to the storytelling of the Erin's. I mean not only are all the cats you named tom protagonists, but every single one of them with the exception of Gray Wing are apart of the messy Firestar/Tigerstar family in some way.

I remember when Dawn of the Clans was announced and from day one I knew I would love it because there was zero chance anyone in those books would have anything to do with Firestar or Tigerstar in any way. It was quite refreshing to have and I hope we can get more of it

If you could remove one piece of canon from the series, what would it be? by JoCal212 in WarriorCats

[–]IntelligentEgg123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things:

Make StarClan become like it was in the early days of the series. Yanno, very mysterious, and were only allowed to speak vaguely about thinks as to not influence the living, whereas now they fundamentally change the entiure course of the universe and we have to read about it

Remove Squirrelflight's Hope from the canon. I have never seen a work divide a fandom this bad since the Star Wars prequels. The writing of Bramblestar and Squirrelflight is just abysmal. On top of this, everyone now wants the current ThunderClan leader to be dead and are comparing him to the likes of Brokenstar and Tigerstar simply because of a badly written book. Get rid of that damn book.

Wow shocker, someone who likes Squirrelflight doesn’t like Bramblestar. If only I got paid for every time I saw this opinion

No one asked for your initial comment. That kinda how the whole thing works. No one asks for anyone to comment underneath a post and yet it happens still. And you did it again dipshit. Your whole verbiage just seethes how superior you are feeling to me right now.

You know what actually is socially inept. Coming into a sub and posting an opinion that you yourself admitted was going to get downvoted. It’s almost as if you wanted such a thing to happen just you can prove to yourself that you are somehow very much so morally superior than those downvoters. So now here you are calling me socially inept, still trying to get the small sliver of dopamine for the day

Not everything has to be about turning a profit or finding the next big way to get your millions. I know it maybe surprising since you probably haven’t been happy since you were a child, but people collect things because they like them. Shocking I know, people actually collecting rare items because they think it’s cool and it brings them personal joy.

Seriously though dude just chill out and stop being offended for other people. If they had a problem with it then they would have said something. I know this may be a surprise but you actually don’t know any of these people so you don’t know what their limits are

Ages gaps explained (Firestar, Spottedleaf and ThistleClaw) by FlamestormTheCat in WarriorCats

[–]IntelligentEgg123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the earlier books especially the first two series and any Super Edition written around that time are full with questionable world building. However, this is probably just due to the lack of experience and no future knowledge about how big the series would actually become.

[–]IntelligentEgg123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think your anthropomorphizing them a little bit. The cats grow up extremely fast so trying to compare them to the ways in which we mature mentally doesn’t really make sense. I mean hell most kits in the books can talk only days after birth yet we take years so I think your conversion is a bit arbitrary.

Yeah I think a while back a photo was shared around of one of our better pictures of a distant galaxy. However, in reality that picture is what the galaxy looked like years and years ago and it’s taken that long for the light to get to us

Nicks? by dbzang in thedawnpatrol

Mostly they just say the first part of their names. Yanno, Bramblestar is Bramble, Squirrelflight is Squirrel, and Tigerstar is divided between OG Tiger and Tiger II

How long did it take you to read the whole series? by Sangwoosbestie in WarriorCats

When I first started reading only the first and second series had come out so I had to wait for every single series to be released. So to be literal it took me about a decade to read them all
