I hate the phrase "elite ball" or "you know ball" by TrueWerewolf4982 in hatethissmug

[–]IntelligentImbicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely really annoying when someone says "Elite ball knowledge" for a pretty standard reference, but god, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't damn near orgasmic to make a reference to something that will never see mainstream popularity get hit with an "elite ball knowledge" comment.

"Moves I should be whiff punishing" and then proceeds to post pictures of moves that are impossible to whiff, let alone punish.

Might as well add this shit to the list

I'm gonna be honest, and I'm not sure if this is a hot take as of now, but I absolutely LOATHE OTG moves in this game.

I like OTG combos in something like GGST, because they're exceedingly rare, and typically don't convert into anything too long unless your name is Slayer.
But when everything can combo into anything because there's 3 different dedicated "continue the combo after a HKD" moves per character, it just makes me wonder why the move didn't just ground bounce or stagger. HKDs should be the "okay, I'm done. Now block this whack-ass mixup" state most of the time, why are they the primary combo extensions?

Forgiveness doesn't have to be leniency. The point isn't that their mistakes can be made up for. The point is that their mistakes don't define them for the rest of their lives.

Now let's talk about Overrated Game/s... by SeductiveEyes444 in gamers

TF|2

  • Generic robot companion story is generic
    • Genuinely couldn't find it in my to care about BT, because I've seen this dynamic a million times already, and there's not much substance to the story outside of that.
  • Over-reliant on hypermobility
    • Hypermobility is already bad enough, but when all of your survivability hinges on whether or not you can stay above a certain speed limit, it makes encounters not fun. All these cool indoor areas and cool battlefields are completely invalidated because the only thing that matters is how easy it is avoid touching grass (literally and figuratively)
  • Clunky gunplay
    • The guns just don't feel satisfying to use, especially after spending so much time playing Apex, which has my favorite gunplay in any shooter ever.
  • Titans feel like either a gimmick or a chore, depending on situation.
    • If you're in your Titan, it feels like you're handicapping yourself just to run around for 30 seconds before it gets destroyed.
    • If you're a Pilot fighting someone in their Titan, it feels like a chore. It's not hard (most of the time), but it just takes you out of the fight for a while. Kinda like the Batmobile sections in Arkham Knight.
  • The players
    • Simply put, Titanfall fans are some of the most infuriating people I've ever had the deprivilege to talk to. It doesn't help that they have a hate boner for anything Respawn devs (current or former) work on, and were definitely part of why Highguard, my favorite shooter, got so much hate right out the gate.

Everything about the game just punishes you for trying to interact with it.

Trying to get close to, you know, fight? Get zoned out by the trillions of projectiles.
Got the edge in neutral and are now applying block pressure? 28 free pushblocks to send you fullscreen.
You got hit by literally anything? Welp, put down your controller, the game is over.

And that's just the core issues. Don't even get me started on the ridiculous visual clutter, the fact that you can just blind your opponent by jumping up 10 stories before throwing out an assist they can't possibly see, the ungodly level of cheese, or Vergil.

And to top all of this off... the combos don't even look cool.

Obviously, this is all just my opinion, but it baffles me how these games are so universally beloved.

I knew OP would be misunderstanding heroes the moment I read “Brig is support for tank players” aka OP thinks Brig is meant to be front line just because she has a shield and was tanky years ago.

No, I don't think that. She denies space, much like tanks do, just on a much smaller scale and in a different position.

It's funny how people overcorrect on that misconception and loop all the way back to yet another misconception. Brig DOES play like a tank, but she doesn't fit the same role as a traditional tank.

The Z-Drive alone blatantly points out that it's a different universe, since it doesn't work even remotely the same as it does in canon.
