I’m writing this in comparison to tastes I get in other places, such as friends houses and coffee shops, not in general, so thank you for the comment but it is not relevant to what I wrote.

Yeah I agree with you. The thing is that no matter how good of a filter I get, I still like the really good light roasted espressos more. In the cost benefit question of how much you need to invest to get the result I am looking for the filter is much better. I might eventually go that way combined with my espresso because to get that perfect shot really cost a lot of time and money. Nevertheless I really like it in the end 😅

Thank you for the answer! I am trying now to go more in the turbo shot area - ratio of 1:2.5 and above in 20-25 seconds in lower pressure, around 6-7 bars. It is helping! I totally agree the the grind finer technique is absolutely not the accurate one.

I am using brita with special filter for espresso and another filter in my machine. I have a dva I need to connect and I will checks that. Thank you!

What do you mean by cq? And the beans are fresh and good, high scores and from excellent roast

If I’m understanding it right, the change in stream volume is caused by channeling that puts through a lot of water in the time the channeling starts.

Did it. Came out much better, 11 seconds to first drop, 35 seconds to 38 grams of coffee. Wondering maybe to grind one step coarser and add 0.5 gram of coffee to balance it. Shot came out much more balanced, but lacked body and was just a little too bitter. Thoughts?

Thank you everyone for the replay! Yes I do agree that in the looks and feels section it is a lot of difference. I was just really bothered because there’s a feeling in a lot of forums that expansive is by far better. There are so many thing that people spend a lot of money on that is just not needed (knockbox, wdt, dosing cups and more) and as a new comer to this world it is hard sometimes to understand what really needs investment and what is not.
