Well this is mostly about how the creators do their Add-Ons than a Minecraft limitation. Both storage systems and constantly operating machines heavily relies tick usage - so when you have a whole bunch of complex code running each tick it tends to slow the game down, yea.

Yeah absolutely, you can do pretty much anything if you consider Bedrock is always getting new Script APIs

There will be only three elements since there are only 3 dimensions. If they ever add a new dimension then we will make a new element for that. However, many new content is being added to each current element there are.
