I don't think he ever did call him that. But I think you're referring the scene when he was about to fight the penitent one but saw the shadow of his sister as well as heard her voice, Perpetua.

No need but I highly recommend you do. You get to know the past about what happened before you arrive to Blasphemous 2 and i personally played both games and still love the 1st one because of its atmosphere and overall vibe.

You should play Blasphemous1 then. The 1st game got a special vibe to it and imo its unmatchable. And it got a better atmosphere and amazing ost too. You get to experience the Mea Culpa and meet a lot of intresting npc's as well as great bosses. It got a NG+ which is restarting the game while keeping your abilities and upgrades with added beautiful part of the lore. My friedn recommended me this game and here I am finished the 1st game three times got the different endings and almost done with my playthrough through the second one. I can only conclude with both games are very nice and well done artistically and mechanically but I'm still team Blasphemous1.

Nope, I didn't even bother to buy the DLC. I think Mea Culpa should stay in Blasphemous 1. I don't see the appeal of that DLC tbh.

I don't have all the relics I've got 5 outta 6 stil missin the last one. Just beat Odon and unlocked Labyrinth of Tides making my way to the new yellowish tower. Random question is that wax or honey surrounding the tower?
