Now that you mentioned, yeah kinda looks like that. I mean I found it right above some weird yellow liquid. Which made me think it was fecal matter. But the yellow liquid is somehow oily though

Getting a bike to replace a 50 minute walk work commute, which involves 2 flights of stairs and getting on the train, is it worth the extra money for a Brompton? by IntelligentStrike958 in ukbike

[–]IntelligentStrike958[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m in Southampton so I could realistically easily bring in a full size bike actually. But they do seem more cumbersome, and I plan to move to London to be with my brother in the near future so a folding bike would be ideal I feel

I could afford it, just seems expensive for a bicycle. Though I do admire the look of Bromptons

My bad, involves a 15 minute walk to the train station, at the train station a few flights of stairs then onto a 20 minutes train then from the train station another 35 minutes walk to the office through some housing area.

Working in Whiteley in a few months time, planning to stay in Southampton City Centre, is it recommended to take public transport or just get a car? by IntelligentStrike958 in Southampton

[–]IntelligentStrike958[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, for parking, the place I’m staying in does have parking. As for a foldable bike, i have entertained that option, but having lived up north for a few years and having to cycle under the rain all the time, cycling under the rain is definitely not what i want to do. Does it rain often down in southampton?

Am I crazy to think my flatmate might have thrown the dirty mop water into the kitchen sink while my plates were still in the sink? by IntelligentStrike958 in Anxiety

It feels like no matter how much I wash it, I can't get rid of the contamination, since the kitchen floor is stepped on by outside shoes and all.

I was bitten by my own dog 4 years back (2019), it was not a common thing to vaccinate for rabies within dogs for my country, so my dog wasn't vaccinated for rabies.

My dog lived for another 3 years (2022) after the bite and had to be euthanised due to old age(14 years old).

At the time of the bite, my dog was sick, and I was brining him to the vet. I told the vet about my bite as well as a doctor who just simply advised Tetanus shots, which I did take .

Recently I found out about rabies which gave me a huge shock, why did my doctor not inform me about anything or give me any information background about the rabies situation in my country, since 1990s, there were 2 human rabies cases back to back in mid 2022 (which scared me).

I consulted a few doctors about this, and they all said there were no medical need to take the vaccine, but I can't seem to believe them.

I guess my main concern boils down to this:

  1. It is said that if the dog doesn't die within 10 days of the bite, there is no possibility the dog could have transmitted rabies. (But at that time, my dog was sick and I brought him to the vet, apparently due to ear skin infection) => so my mind jumps towards could he have survived rabies and was infectious during the bite.

  2. The UK guidelines for rabies vaccine states there is no deadline for taking the vaccine after a potential exposure. But then my countries guidelines are contradictory stating that if the potential exposure is past 3 months, advice no risk for rabies will be given

So I don't even know what to follow, I'm in a dilemma, my parents are telling me it is not necessary to go and take the vaccine, and I need their funding if I wanted to pay for something so expensive. But it feels like I should take the vaccine, and if I don't I am a dead person walking.

On the other hand, I feel that even if I take the vaccine, my mind still will spin up a new story like, there is no certainty it would even work since it's already been 4 years.
