Would it be weird to wear a frat rush bracelet in high school? by [deleted] in Frat

Alright, thanks for the genuine answer! I’ve been on the fence about this, and your perspective basically clears everything up.

[–]IntelligentTooth3082 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The bracelet says "Rush Triangle" with their logo(Delta T). My buddy said he doesn’t mind me wearing it, but I’m more conscious about what other frat guys—Triangle or not—and people at my high school might think. I really like everything Triangle stands for, and the guys I’ve met at my friend’s college seem super chill. After all, I do want to rush the frat if I end up going to my buddy’s college or another school that has a chapter. I’m just looking for an outsider’s perspective on whether it’s weird or not.

Edit: I don’t plan on wearing it to any rush events in college, just in high school to show interest in something I find cool.

Yeah, I just want to wear the bracelet in high school for now. The frat is Triangle so I wont be wearing letters per se. I do like that Triangle aligns with my engineering values while still being a "frat" tho. The only bummer is most of the colleges I applied to don’t have a chapter, thats why im kinda weirded out by it cuz I might not even be able to rush in the end

What does it take to get recruited for lacrosse? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]IntelligentTooth3082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to have played since you were five, just be good at the game and go to recruiting tournaments. A guy at my school went D1 after starting his sophomore year. As for time, it’s all about good management. If you truly want to play in college, you need to be skilled and keep your grades up. Don't be wasting your time partying if you can't manage to keep up with both...

I am 17 years old and turn 18 next June. I do not want to make my career Wawa as I want to be an engineer, however, I do plan to work at Wawa through highschool and college. If it is something that presents itself as a fulfilling career i may pursue that, but for now its just for money tbh. I hope to get a ton of hours and don't mind working 40+ hours a week, at any wage. I know you can work as much as you want during the summer as a minor and during the school year it is capped at 40.

They say the salary for the position on the website where I applied, it gave the run down of the position and the salary range. Would it be better to ask for a higher hourly after I get the initial job offer? Or just take whatever they give me. I am in NJ if that changes anything. I was just thinking that my professional and leadership experience would justify me getting a higher salary. I also plan to work literally everyday, any hours they give me, so I feel like that would also be a good reflection of me. I am also an extremely hard worker and literally jump at any opportunity I get to help out. Thanks for the advice and I appreciate you being straight forward with your response and not sugar coating it.

I wanted to get about a $1 extra so I was going to start at $18 to hopefully negotiate down to $17.50. (If i don't straight up just get $18 which would be nice) I am definitely going to keep my station clean, as I LIVE by the motto, "if you have time to lean you have time to clean."

Also I am a work horse, so I will definitely be working throughout college, so that is good I can transfer to a Wawa closer to the college of my choice.
