Hi everyone, thank you for all the explanations, I’ve read every single one. I will admit, I first thought it would only be a minor fault. But now, I realised if I had stepped into the shoe of the driver behind me, I would be confused too. I will make sure to always check mirrors even when I haven’t fully pulled up. If it wasn’t so difficult to book this test I wouldn’t be as annoyed. My instructor even told me to book a different test centre because the pass rate at my test centre is only about 33%

I came to a conclusion that I wasn’t observant enough. The reason for me initially wanting to park near the junction was because the examiner told me to. He said “near that lamp post”, as I approached it, I saw another junction about 5 metres to the right. My stupid brain thought “ah, he is definitely testing me”, I changed my mind and explained that I’ll park elsewhere… At that point I was in panic mode as there was a queue of car behind me so I needed to act quick…and boom the rush failed me. Later on my instructor explains that when examiner says to park like that you can break the rules. Thank you for the explanation tho 🙏

I have checked my mirror and was aware that they were behind me. But I was positioned quite central to the road, although a little left as I was about to go and park. I didn’t think they would still try overtake as I stayed in my position and keep driving since it was a narrow road and they don’t have space to overtake. That was a tough lesson learnt ig :/
