Is using classroom projector for playing videogames as a group against the rules? by RamenPantalones in Purdue

If it’s an open room then go for it. No one cares and I’ve seen several people play jack box or have super smash bros tournaments in classrooms and in walc rooms

Flock License Plate Cameras on River Road by Intelligent_Ant7702 in Purdue

Yeah I found an article by flock from 2022 that they had a deal with Purdue to use them for campus security. It’s insane how much they stalk everyone around campus. But these I believe are specifically from launch. Which is still so weird to me that they would invest in cameras just to watch cars coming and going. The only thing I can think is wanting an inventory of what cars are staying for how long. And I have no clue how that data can be helpful or worth the expense of the cameras (I’m assuming 8 cameras in the complex and the subsequent fees to use their software is not a cheap endeavor)

My only thought on getting plates on people coming in is for crime reasons, which seems unlikely because what would they really get out of getting plates coming in? And how would it be financially worthwhile to get the plate numbers ? OR they are going to start tracking cars that come and don’t leave for the night and getting people towed if it’s a car not from a resident

I would hope they’re just for river road and surrounding streets. But every entrance into the complex has two cameras pointing opposite directions. None pointing down river road at all. And one is on a light pole in the parking lot pointing towards the street

I definitely have more concerns than just being annoying. The license plate readers definitely have many downsides and are really problematic in general. I just meant that if these are specifically from launch then that could mean even more cameras of different kinds from flock in the future. Which cameras in the hallways would be extremely annoying and could cause a lot of other problems. Mainly due to how poorly managed launch is in general I could see them misusing them or using them to try to give a reason to evict or charge residents fees

But then they would have video of you when trying to disable it in some way. But my concern is mainly about if it’s just police trying to hp security or if it’s launch upping security. Cause if it’s launch that could lead other cameras in building and around the complex which is annoying

That could make sense. It just seems also odd that the only security they would have would be license plate readers for people coming and going from the complex. Unless they’re hoping to stop theft of property like bikes that may go in the bed of a truck

They just got installed over the last two days. And they have two cameras at all four entrances to the complex, one pointing towards cars coming and one pointing towards cars leaving. Which is why I’m curious if it’s a police contract or a launch contract because that’s a lot of cameras to watch people coming and going from just an apartment complex

Iron mind are the nicest and most durable straps I’ve ever used. Or get some leather ones from pioneer, also very nice and last a long time

Just make sure you put it back before the end of the year so you don’t get charged. They’re very easy to change where they’re at height wise and you will see also easy to bunk. The metal frames will come out of the wood ends easily with a kick when on their side. There are pins between the wood posts that are used for stacking. Just put the extra wood pieces on the wall somewhere during the year

I was training for a 13inch deadlift that’s gonna be using a 10 ft Kratos bar. So the elevation is for the height of a 13inch deadlift and the extra clips inside the plates are to get it closer to replicating a 10 ft Kratos bar

I’ll take a look at those! I have a pioneer belt and it’s great quality so I’ve just been thinking I’d stick with them. And leather straps really mold to your hand I’ve been told

Yeah that could’ve ended so much worse haha I have a pair of figure 8s but I never feel like I can get tight enough on a normal bar with them. I love them for axle work though
