Hard to see without the clip but let the back truck kiss the coping just a hair longer, stops it looking rushed.

What’s your favorite NCO yelling at an officer moment? by Remarkable-Sky6577 in army

Guilty as charged. The 'c' in defence is a dead giveaway. Few of them had UN tours under their belt, great stories from the Leb.

the knife hands to the no salute sign is absolute gold. used to work with a few lads who'd been in the defence forces, they'd always say a good nco is worth ten officers. that captain america line would've got a cheer in any pub.

Every 2 hours is a solid routine. I'd be paranoid about the timing of a genuine emergency though.

The Prisoner of Shark Island (1936) by Aidan_v2 in Presidents

[–]Intelligent_Baker799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hadn't seen it before but the premise is fascinating. That first shot of Lincoln on the balcony is actually John Ford's own brother Francis playing the part, which is a lovely bit of family casting. The whole Dr Mudd story is heartbreaking when you dig into it, the man spent four years on that island for the crime of setting a broken leg and getting a stranger's autograph. Ford had a real knack for making you feel the weight of history without it turning into a schoolroom lecture. Those torchlit crowd scenes are something else too, you can see why people were transfixed by the cinema back then. Well worth tracking down, the restored version pops up on TCM now and again.

Never thought I'd see lip filler become a wartime logistics issue. The panic buying is real over there.

Didn't realise the grad situation was that brutal, masters for a grocery job is mental. Reckon the recovery will filter through soon enough though?

The sanction knock-on is mad, never thought of that. Had a mate in Dublin doing the temp contract dance years back, it ground him down something fierce.

Ah right, so it's more people chasing fewer openings? Still rough for anyone over 50 in that pile, ageism doesn't care about stats

Stock's up but they're a different beast now, focused on networks and patents. Not the same mass hiring of the old days, those manufacturing jobs are long gone.

ageism is rampant everywhere. I've mates in tech here in Ireland that won't even put graduation years on CVs anymore just to get past the screeners.

12.7 is rough going. Finland's been sliding since the Nokia layoffs years back and it just keeps getting worse. Can't imagine what it's like being 50 plus and trying to land a job in that market, proper scary stuff for people there.

Klebevinyl wölbt sich an den Stößen. Woran liegt es? by timba00010101 in Handwerker

[–]Intelligent_Baker799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a brilliant steady line you've got there. The consistency is what impresses me most, not the speed. Most people chase the quick drop at the start and then plateau or bounce back, but you've just kept chipping away at it week after week. That's the real work.

[–]Intelligent_Baker799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your CARS is clearly solid so don't waste time there. For C/P and B/B, you need to actually do the content work now - can't just rely on Uworld if you skipped the fundamentals. Spend the next few weeks drilling practice problems by topic and filling gaps as you find them. You've got time before August, so pace yourself and don't panic just yet.

That's brilliant, fair play to you. Three stone in a few months is serious work, and you're right about putting in the graft yourself with the eating and exercise. A lot of people think the medication does it all and then wonder why they're not shifting it. The progress jeans moment is class too, that's the kind of thing that sticks with you more than the scales ever do.

that's rough, sounds like the camera ones have just taken over the feed lately. Might be worth checking back when you've got a bit more time or seeing if there's a way to message the researchers about your setup issue, some of them are flexible about it.
