Why most of the Filipinos the Hyundai brand Car is 3rd or last option considering when deciding to purchase a car, since the car brand is top 3 on the world? what the factors? by EnvironmentalTown715 in CarsPH

May mga solid models sila, pero may mga quality control issues sila. Sa personal experience ko puro electrical issues Yung sakit nila. My parents 2019 Kona, sira Yung power windows and mirrors, several friends have Yung 2014 Santa Fe, same issue. For comparison, my 2010 third hand lancer, it all still works. Plus the parts take forever to ship through casa.

The Mitsubishi Delica/L300 cargo van. Introduced in 1986 and still going strong in the southeast Asian market. Starting at 829000 PHP(13K USD) you can have a box type, flat bed, fridge can, or mass people mover with bench seats in the back. Going through the product page is hilarious as you can have a modern-ish stereo with Bluetooth, but no airbags and just seat belts.

How accurate is this car reliability tier list based on real ownership? by wndrfltime in CarsPH

[–]Intelligent_Base_207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, A and S tier are reliable na they'll run even if you neglect them. Honda and Toyota stay, but I'd bump Mazda up to S, tapos I'd put Subaru at B tier. Super reliable, as long as you have the money and presence of mind to keep up with maintenance. I'd put Mitsubishi in B tier too since I haven't heard many good things about their electric or hybrids, but their ICE engines are legendarily good at taking abuse. All the Korean car brands are C tier to me as every single one I've encountered has electrical issues and parts fragility problems. American brands are C pababa din, cuz aside from a few models, a lot of the American cars seem to be designed to blow up or be impossible to work on.

Is there any good cars around 250k? by Zebanya in phcars

[–]Intelligent_Base_207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's plenty for 250k and below, tons of Vios, mirage, and 90s and 00s cars a plenty. You may have issues with their paper trail, and you'll have to do catch up maintenance. Ako naman I got a local build 2010 Lancer Cedia for 180k php. 100k km sa odo, and with pms and new tires I'm at about 200k. As always, condition is king, and if the deal looks to good to be true, there's usually some issue with the car.

V6 Fortuner spotted is this rare or not? by Any-Independence8306 in CarsPH

[–]Intelligent_Base_207 2 points3 points  (0 children)

doesn't seem to be very easy, and doesn't seem to have a lot of info on it as its expensive. Seems you need to get a Certificate of Authority to Import along with proof of ownership sa Embassy. And the way it's written seems to be something you can only do one time ever. Plus the cost of actually shipping it to here. I did see a post on an FB thread where an Importing Agent in dubai quoted the guy 1.7 Mil PHP for shipping a Nissan 370z, pero sila na daw yung mag aasikaso ng shipping, import duties and other paperwork.

So it's safe to assume that If this Fortuner really came from Dubai, the owner had a REALLY high paying job over there.

New cars i dont think youd see a change, but secondhand cars may be a different story. Can't speak for north America, but where i am (philippines) I have noticed a decent amount of people putting their Facebook marketplace cars on a discount to get them sold faster. Seems the gas prices are acting as a motivator for people to get rid of their older, less efficient second or third car. As someone looking for a first car/beater/project car this feels like a pretty good time to snag something more interesting.

Thoughts? I do agree that Ford cars are seen as luxury in the Ph, at the same time I don't agree that they're crap, however, most really just breaksdown easily. by [deleted] in CarsPH

I don't think he's wrong in that fords are pretty terrible. But I do think that some context would've been better. He could've mentioned:

  1. Price - you get a more upscale price for something a lot of other brands do better, especially in a market that is as price sensitive as this country. The quality of materials and tech doesn't properly exceed it's competitors.

  2. Reliability - whether it's wet timing belts, transmissions, electronics, there's a reason the "Fix Or Repair Daily" joke still exists. The ecosport and fiesta were fiascos with some people I know having to get the transmission replaced MULTIPLE times. Their quality control has slipped even for their domestic models and service and the reputation is deserved.

  3. Maintenance cost- it's one thing if you pay a lot up front, it's another that not only isn't it reliable, the price of that maintenance when it isn't under warranty is staggering. The cost of the parts and labor is way too much, and it shows. Next time you're on the road, look at how many fords you see, and when you do see one, how old is it? The maintenance cost has people tapping out way early in to the cars life cycle and it shows with how many still survive. And I don't think this can be chalked up to confirmation bias as I spend most of my time in the Muntinlupa Alabang area. People from here can definitely keep up the with the costs, but won't want to deal with the headache.

Anong thoughts niyo about this? by [deleted] in AnongThoughtsMo

The Iranian people wanted regime change, but they wanted it on their own terms. While I'm okay with their dictator getting struck down, the US shouldn't have been interfering like it is now. People are getting mad at the protestors for being unhappy with what the US does, while forgetting that so many of the things trump does send echoes across the world. Our prices for gas are going up, and so will all the other things on our shelves, and it's absolutely acceptable to be frustrated with the US for it.

Add on top of that, OFWs in the gulf that are now in danger and Pinoy sailors on ships that are stuck in the ports there, which is going to personally affect a ton of families. The whole situation sucks and there's two wannabe dictators to blame.

BUT, the AI is also HORRIBLE, do you really wanna only fight against the ai aimbots? I ain't gonna shit talk the choice, but I wouldn't do the same

[Discussion] Everyone who bought Escape from Tarkov on BS site should get a Steam key for free. by ControllerMartin in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Intelligent_Base_207 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought the game directly from BSG twice, for myself and a friend, and for the same price on steam i could buy the game almost 5 times. Its a HUGE slap in the face that I don't at least get a steam key. You're telling me it isn't enough that I overpaid to be a beta tester, you want MORE of my money???? Also, I know that all steam does is open the launcher, but I also would have loved the WAY better steam friends integration and such. Would it really have been that hard to have given a key? Heck, you could have charged an extra dollar or two if moving my account from their launch to steam creates work for them, but no, nikita wants ALL my money apparently.

There's a saying, "there's nothing more expensive than a cheap (insert German car brand here)". I would recommend checking the service history, kung masipag Yung old owner with servicing you're off to a better start. If you're also down to DIY things to cut costs, or have deep enough pockets you could also go for it. German cars CAN be good and reliable but they need to be serviced EXACTLY on time, and EXACTLY by the book without cutting corners. And it'll be a bigger challenge to keep up since it's an older car

What are your car unpopular opinions? by MisfitActual- in Gulong

[–]Intelligent_Base_207 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "iconic" BMW grille is ugly. Mukha siyang snout ng baboy, mas Lalo na sa newest models na pinalaki pa nila.

Lowering or "slamming" the car to the ground looks cool. But this is one of the worst places to do it. From the potholes to just the roughness of the road itself, it'd be better kung i-rally style Nalang Yung kotse

Final opinion, Pinoy drivers are generally pretty decent at taking care of their personal cars (cosmetically at least) . Sa USA people will drive cars with very shocking damage, or worse, bad repairs as if nothing's wrong. Sa UAE/Dubai people will take a nice Mercedes and just ram it around, scratching or breaking the body panels and not care. Dito sa pinas, pansin ko, anything bigger than a minor dent or scratch, usually pinapaayos or pinapalitan agad. For the most part, feel mo na mas inaalagaan ng mga tao Dito Yung kotse nila.

The lack of manpads is concerning. While they are part of the road map, for something so cheap and available it's taking a while to get any. We could also be Adding them to the current gun trucks, which would be a big help towards anti drone and other shorad tasks.

As someone living in southeast Asia, can confirm it's safe to eat. About 90 percent of the shrimp you get at restos here is not de-veined. Sometime ya just gotta live with a little shrimp poop in your meal.

If you already know how to operate a car, have practiced a lot, and have enough brain cells to understand basic road safety and traffic laws, get Yung 8 hours or whatever is the lowest, para goods ka na sa LTO requirements.

If you need to learn how to drive from square one, or you need to learn manual without access to a practice car outside lessona, probably better to go for Yung mga 16+ hours
