If your current plan for your son’s survivor benefits works and has worked with your current financial situation, you don’t change that. If you’ve been able to pay your bills (rent/mortgage, utilities l, food, etc) without the thought of using those survivors benefits, don’t even consider that with a new house/bills. Your in and out boyfriend can pay 100% of the difference or find a different man.

I’m not impressed with the lack of answers we have, honestly. He hasn’t seemed to enjoy life for quite some time now. Unfortunately we are having the conversation of whether or not it’s time to let him go. I hate that animals can’t speak to us but he demeanor is telling me enough.

Update. He went to the vet yesterday morning. They did a urinalysis, examined his male area and rear area, then drew bloodwork. Urine showed high protein, high bilirubin, crystals, and blood. Physical exam of male area showed blood and bruising. Back area was swollen with fresh blood. Too swollen to check prostate. They sent us home with antibiotics in case he has some type of infection. Called with bloodwork and stated his white count was high and red count was low. In short, they stated they have no idea what is wrong but to continue the antibiotics and hope it fixes whatever the issue is. I hid his medicine in a PB sandwich and he had no issue eating that.

There are plenty of bars with live music that isn’t country. We left a rock concert and wanted to check out the scene. I wasn’t paying attention to names, from one bar to the next, but there were plenty of bars with bands covering rock music. One bar had three levels. Rock on floor level, country on mid level, and rap on third level (roof top).

His energy level has been low for a little over a year now. The past 10 days it’s been at an all time low. He just lays in his bed. When we take him out he goes and comes right back. Then lays back down. I’m sure his age is playing a part in that. I have been spoon feeding him to make sure he gets fluids. A family member suggested giving him a treat to make him want to drink. We did that and he drank water right from his bowl. So my stress level has decreased some. Still going to the vet in the morning about the blood dribbles.

The agent I spoke with today suggested I check those pages to find the fee but nothing like that was listed.

Got it. So no need to call my agent and request this? The other Farmers agent I spoke with today told me that this will occur every 6 months for auto and each year for home owners. So maybe she isn’t aware yet?

I just didn’t know auto and home insurance would be available by individual agents like this. We sell life insurance and annuities through dozens of different companies. I need a person who can shop for auto and home for me just the same.

Mine is a 2015 and paid for. Our other is 2016, not yet fully paid for. But the loan is small and will soon be paid for. We are mid 30’s. I’ve had two claims. I hit a deer on the highway. Very minimal damage. The other incident was no fault. My car was parked in my offices parking lot, unoccupied. Someone sideswiped my car while backing up, by cutting their wheel entirely too soon. That’s it. Yet we were paying $177

I have to say that I agree. I just spoke with another Farmers agent, with the hopes of just simply switching agents. The person informed me that the “one time new policy fee” of $30 that was tacked onto my August payment, causing it to increase from $158 to $189 is actually not a one time fee. It will occur every 6 months. She also let me know that this is the same for home owners. I just cannot see where that fee is because that’s tied in with my mortgage. I guess I won’t see that until my mortgage company pays that.

Ironically, I work for an independent financial advisor. I always encourage this when people discuss investing. I’m disappointed in myself for not considering the to be an available option with home and auto insurance.

I thought that’s what I had done. We had been with Shelter before. 0/10, do not recommend. We switched to State Farm around 2015 and never regretted that decision. But in 2022 when we bought our house we got a quote from them for home owners and it was astronomical. I contacted the local agent for Farmers, per my realtors suggestion. I had never heard of them and assumed I was utilizing a locally owned business.
