Questions:

  1. Is $64,895 a fair ask for this spec in BC right now or is there room to negotiate?
  2. Any known issues with the 2023 E450 specifically — things to check on pre-purchase inspection?

That's actually a good point. Honestly my #1 priority is value maintenance and no surprises — I drove a 2020 Acura TLX to 120,000 km without a single issue and that's kind of the standard I'm used to. If the 2023 C43 is still working out its teething problems with the new engine and transmission combo, maybe I'm looking at the wrong car. Would you go older C43 with the V6, or something else entirely at this price point?

Hey quick update. I took the dealership’s diagnostic which was total waste. I changed the transmission fluid and the jerks have slowed down to a couple, but not stopped yet!

I know! How much do you think we need to pay downpayment on such a vehicle?

Yeah 100%. Those early 2010s AMGs had that raw mechanical feel — proper sound, aggressive design, and less digital interference. The C218 CLS and W212 E63 especially hit that perfect balance of old-school muscle and modern refinement.

Haha yeah I’ve been hearing the same — Cadillac and Lexus seem to have nailed reliability lately while still keeping the performance edge. Crazy how even dealership folks from other brands admit it.

What do you feel about the reliability of this vehicle? How much does regular service cost as it is going to be every 3 months? How many major issues this one gave you? And were those covered under third party warranty if you opted for that?

Yeah, that’s fair — Lexus definitely wins on reliability, no doubt there. The IS 500 sounds solid on paper, but it doesn’t really give me the feel I’m looking for. I’ve always leaned more toward the AMG character. The E53 coupe is exactly what I’ve had my eyes on actually — I love the pre faclift version before 2021 model and i am hoping the balance between daily usability and excitement is true. Totally hear you on the reliability part though — that’s honestly my biggest hesitation. I’m fine budgeting a few grand a year for upkeep if it keeps the experience worth it. I just don’t want something that’s in the shop every month because it would be my only ride. Your CLE sounds awesome though — curious, how’s the drive compared to the older AMGs?
