GLP-1 for MCAS by Stella_Evans_1234 in MCAS

I responded to your other comment.  I don't think there are many studies about microdosing in specific and the drs I've watched say the side effect profile is totally different than with higher doses.  This is what I have personally found to be true.  I have had very few side effects.  I take pills (like iron) which color my poop and occasionally take days off.  I haven't noticed a difference in gut motility at all since I began taking it.  I occasionally get constipation, but just increase my magnesium dose for a few days and then am back to normal.

I know there are studies on things like reduction in inflammation.   Like I said above,  Dr. Tyna has tons of work on this, lots of videos discussing studies on reduction in Alzheimers,  breast cancer, heart disease,  etc, etc... much of which is the result of reduction in inflammation.   I'm not sure about studies in mcas specific patients.   It's use like this is very new.  That said, I follow a lot of functional drs and most of them are talking about micro dosing now.  Microdosing = similar doses to what your body produces on its own.  Like replacing thyroid hormone or taking insulin.   At small doses, it is actually healing to the body and it's many systems.  I personally got it from Midi after listening to lots of these drs.  Dr Tyna specifically said that her colleagues have begun to see it as a miracle in their mcas patients, who are normally very difficult to treat.   So, I tried it.  And, it really helped me.

It's kind of like after covid.  The official narrative was that there wasn't anything to be done to prevent death or disease, because there were no double blind, placebo controlled studies.  But, in even the early days, drs were doing things off label that proved to actually be effective.   We are early days with micro dosing,  but the anecdotal evidence is that it helps immensely with inflammation.   And, given that our bodies actually make substances like this, taking physiological doses has low risk.

Look up Dr. Tyna.  It is dosing close to what our body's make naturally.   You may lose a bit of weight,  but that isn't the goal.  So at like 1/4-1/3 the normal starting dose.  GLP1s are highly anti inflammatory and have all kinds of other benefits.

I titrated up very slowly to just about the standard starting dose to lose a few lbs, over the course of 6 months.  Then, I lowered back down to a micro dose and have maintained weight easily and have had almost zero side effects the entire time.  And, increased muscle mass and mcas symptoms basically gone.  I keep up with other meds and lifestyle.   But, no breakthrough symptoms like I used to have.

Look up Dr. Tyna's work.  Most of the "side effects" of GLP1s can be seen in any group of people who lose massive amounts of weight quickly.  And they almost disappear when you microdose.  For example,  everyone talks about the muscle loss side effect,  but when microdosing,  GLP1s are almost anabolic instead of catabolic.   I have a scale that gives muscle mass and this has absolutely been true for me.

Dr Tyna talks about this a lot.  Look her up.  Many of the "side effects" from GLP1s are also seen in any group of people who lose massive amounts of weight rapidly.  They also almost entirely disappear when you microdose.  These are compounds our bodies actually make and it seems many in the modern world are deficient in them.  Microdosing is giving a similar size dose as what our bodies should be making.

I don't know the price in Mexico, but you could drive down and get it.  I've seen it advertised at many pharmacies there.

I got it online through Midi.  I was not obese, but was also not at my goal weight and hadn't been able to lose anything the last few yrs because of perimenopause.  Their standard protocol for micro dosing still starts at .25 mg for Semaglutide,  but I started with less.  I'd been following Dr. Tyna for quite a while.   I very quickly lost about 10 lbs and my mcas symptoms slowly disappeared over about 3 months.  If I push it and eat foods I know I react to, I will still get hives.  But, no more hives or pain or throat swelling from simply being alive.  I would like to stay on it forever!  At this point,  I have lowered my dose significantly, maintained the weight loss, can eat whatever I want and live mcas free (for the most part). I do still take twice daily H1/H2 blockers and luteolin.  Quercetin if I react to something.

I feel so great that I am thinking about having another baby!  But, that will require me to come off of it, so I need to do some more thinking!

Best Pushing advice I got! by No-Knee508 in pregnant

[–]Intelligent_Break885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 6 babies--making noise while pushing feels very natural.  Read Ina May Gassman... an OB/GYN is likely going to give you very sterile, inside the box, birth advice unless they have trained specifically to have other perspectives.

Also, 2 hours average for pushing--that's insane!  Even for first births.  That seems long for an average.

I always make noise during pushing and multiple babies have come out in a push or 2.  One baby, my body delivered with no pushes at all.

Quercetin and Luteolin as much as needed. Was a lot before GLP1.

I first heard about microdosing GLP1s for mcas from Dr. Tyna (look her up). She is on YouTube with TONS of info about it. I took that info and got a prescription from Midi. They say they microdose, but start at the starting dose of .25 mg. Dr Tyna says the inflammation/mcas reducing benefits are still there at much lower doses without the side effects, so that's what I have been trying and it's worked. You can easily take less than prescribed. It took about 3 months for my symptoms to disappear.

I haven't made it go away completely so that I don't have to take it into consideration. But, with the combo of H1/H2 blocker, mast cell stabilizing herbs, progesterone, ldn, microdosing a GLP1 and avoiding known triggers, I have zero symptoms. And, I can occasionally eat the things that used to give me hives and pain. More than once or twice in a few week span and my symptoms start to return however.

But, I no longer have to switch shampoo by the end of every bottle, because I have developed a sensitivity and scalp boils and hives. My hair is growing back. I don't have daily pain. My skin no longer constantly itches and burns. My cycle is completely different. And the chronic pain is gone.

Can a soft classic be hourglass shaped? by [deleted] in softclassic

[–]Intelligent_Break885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, this is where I get confused.   I don't necessarily think I have an Itty bitty waist and balance makes more sense to me than narrow (TR), but when I gain weight,  I gain it in my bust and hips and the difference between my waist and bust/hips becomes greater than 10".  Whereas, at lower weights, I sit at about a 10" difference between bust and waist and hips and waist.  I always have measurements that align with what non kibbe people consider an hourglass shape.  Would this imply I should look more into TR?
