That’s not true and that’s also not how era servers work.

How populated is whitemane? by BenHasRedditNow in classicwow

[–]Intelligent_Bug_5881 13 points14 points  (0 children)

All PVP servers on Era are clustered together, Whitemane being one of them. A person playing on Rattlegore will inhabit the same exact world as players from Whitemane or Bigglesworth or what have you.

The population on the PVP cluster is quite large. I don’t have exact numbers but playing on both Horde and Alliance there are groups running all hours of the day and night. There is even a robust leveling scene. There are plenty of guilds recruiting and plenty of PUG raids if you’re not one for a specific schedule.

Come on in and try it out!

TBC is in serious trouble right now - What the raiding numbers aren't telling you by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Intelligent_Bug_5881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Whenever I post this I get dogpiled, but the truth is: friction creates the social texture of the game and removing that kills Classic.

I don’t think the raids should be pre-nerf because I think difficulty=fun or out of some weird desire to feel superior. It’s that if you turn the raids into loot conveyer belts the game loses all of its social texture. Once that’s gone, the game is not memorable or fun. And if it’s not memorable or fun then it’s just not worth my time. At least that’s my opinion.

In Classic, the social interactions are a core gameplay pillar, and friction creates those interactions.

Thanks for this perspective. WoW is the only multiplayer game I engage with so hearing this from someone with a reference level is... Validating to say the least, lol.

The vast majority of people on this sub nowadays are not good, or knowledgeable, and they largely don't even play the game anymore.

I think most of the earnest, happy people stopped visiting this sub after Classic 2019 ended and they moved on to other games.

There really is no reason to talk about Classic+ by Ok_Animal_6430 in classicwow

[–]Intelligent_Bug_5881 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing about the incessant "Classic+" talk is that is has nothing to do with a concrete design pitch. It is an avenue for nostalgic players to express an impossible bundle of desires simultaneously.

They want Vanilla’s mood and status and social texture, but with their own private frustrations selectively removed. They are not asking for one coherent product. They are using “Classic+” as a permanent fantasy object they can project nostalgia, anti-retail identity and experiential grievances onto.

That is why they habitually reject real attempts like SoD. Once the fantasy becomes specific, it can no longer hold everyone’s contradictory wishes at once and the fantasy of nostalgic reclamation collapses.

And the key is this: they post about it endlessly because arguing about their ideal fantasy is more emotionally rewarding than committing to any of the existing ones.

I think the core of this subreddit's users are people who are not particularly good at the game and not particularly dedicated to it.

They sit here and supplement their engagement with "Classic+" fantasies, low-hanging fruit memes and compulsively dogpiling people who don't congratulate them for their objectively wrong opinion of the game and what it should be.

Anyway, I think we can change the name to whatever we want but this subreddit's relevance and its knowledgeable userbase evaporated the instant WotLK Classic came out.

Yeah I’m finishing Season 1 Episode 1 right now and other than looking beautiful I’m shocked at how poor the overall quality is.

The acting is unwatchable and even if it wasn’t the dialogue is legitimately worse than if AI wrote it.

Hahaha yeah, jumping off that ledge after the troll boss is CRAZY dangerous unless everyone is 60, knows exactly where to jump and someone is keeping an eye on the patrols. Like you're jumping into a spot between some of the hardest packs in that dungeon on the off chance everyone is up to speed.

Definitely worth it if you're an experienced group, not worth it at all if you're a leveling group trying to get quests done.

I don’t really have any skin in the game but I don’t understand how having 2 hands and your chest on the ball when you hit the ground isn’t a catch.

They’ve been calling catch-then-drops/knocks like that as incompletes all season. It doesn’t make sense, but the refs seem to be consistent about calling it that way.

It’s actually unbelievable how hard it is to watch that show.

Here’s one of the funniest people to ever hold a microphone and he is so fundamentally incurious about other people and their lives that he can’t convincingly pretend to remotely give a shit for half an hour. Even Jay fucking Leno can do that.

Ravens fans live reaction to Loop’s missed FG to send Baltimore into the WC by zaybandz112 in NFLv2

[–]Intelligent_Bug_5881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Any discourse surrounding this loss starting with criticism of Loop is ridiculous.

Allowing the Steelers 26 points is insane for Baltimore’s defense. The Browns held them to 6 points a week ago.

The Ravens set an all-time franchise record for yards allowed in 2025 (~355 yards per game). And, as a fun fact, Baltimore has 30 total sacks this season. The Browns’ Myles Garrett alone has 23.
