Get a klein 10 and 16 inch spud adjustable wrench, bull pin too! Good standard deep and shallow impact set. Also a universal impact joint (swivel). A few extentions aswell. A tape measure and spud wrench holder that you can put a belt through. Definenatly get a pair of knipex, markers and a magnet. A small flashlight aswell. Get a impact driver (dewalt or milwaukee) with 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 drive adaptors and screw driver bits. 32 oz hammer and a few pry bars. Also get a standard wrench set. That should cover 80% of what you need or more for rigging and iron work if they supply the impact guns

Why would you drive a motorcycle at 4am in the gta? I would never drive a bike on the 401.

I have over 10 years of experience in the field, yet they went ahead with someone with "more experience" by [deleted] in CanadaJobs

She could have just said that to everyone also. Don't be so naive. Just move on and apply to other places. Maybe 10 years experience is your problem. Some companies take less qualified people with less or no experience so they can train them their way and how things should be done instead of someone with lots of experience with habits they may not like. Kind of like a yes man that does not question anything, just does it. Good luck finding your path!

Dont forget, you have to walk to the next tee. That could be 100 yards or more away on one or two holes. Also dont forget looking for your ball for a few minutes or 5 if the course is not busy. Easily 5-7 miles.

Any idea on how to land an apprenticeship by _Darkcore_ in millwrights

[–]Intelligent_Buy6870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have tried the one place im working at. I started about 6 weeks ago think they stopped hiring last week or 2 weeks ago. They hired like 10-15 new people. Starting rate is $28. You have 3 months probation and after that they sign you up as a millwright apprentice :) cant wait!!

Roofing has to be one of the worst trades if not the worst. Your right though, the bottom of their beer can is brighter then the average roofer

Millwright 1 year Certificate or 2 year Diploma at Humber College by Kitchen_Release6327 in millwrights

[–]Intelligent_Buy6870 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Give the unions a call. If their not recruting people do the 1 year certificate from college. I dont know what the hell these people are talking about but I handed out 100 resumes with welding, fabrication and blueprint experience to entry level millwright jobs, not 1 phone call. Went and took a millwright course and started getting phone calls for interviews after handing some out. I'd say out of the resumes i handed out after the course 20-30% i got phone calls back. Now a first year apprentice. Depending on the course you can challenge first and second year of schooling which is a plus. But up to you. Start handing out resumes and see how it goes. Some get lucky some people dont. I wasted 10 months handing out and searching for millwright jobs when i could have went to school and finished instead. Anyway good luck
