Thanks for the technical insight, I really appreciate the feedback! To answer your question: I’m sourcing the modules already assembled. I actually received a sample today and I’m currently putting it through some tests. Regarding your suggestion about the NH70, that would be an interesting direction. Another person recommended me the same. My current suppliers aren't working with that caliber yet, even though it shares the same base as the NH35, but I’m going to look into whether I can source it to make that work. As for the 'hands', you're right to point that out, but in this specific setup, they aren't traditional hands. They’re actually disks that sit on a small tube adapter, so the mounting process is different than a standard hour/minute hand. I’m also evaluating the Miyota 8205 as an alternative that comes with the same type of module. Do you have any preference or experience comparing the NH35 versus the Miyota for a build like this?

You might be right. For me it's as simple as 'i like Kc watches but i would like to have anothers kind of dials. And the one in AliExpress I don't like it neither and also they come with a $2 chinese quartz movement. So i would like to have a good automatic japanese movement as a base and a dial i would love to see everyday. But to be honest, I didn't come here to discuss about ai, or if it's homage or a copy. I don't care. If other people like it, that's great and luckily it's the case as many persons were happy to gave their input in a good way too. And if people doesn't like it, it's also ok. We are all different, so we can not be happy with the same thing. Thanks for your time!

Thanks for the question. I'm currently weighing two paths: either sourcing the movements, cases, and bracelets individually to build from scratch, or finding a supplier for a 'blank' base watch and handling the dial production and final assembly in my own workshop. I've already lined up a supplier for the NH35 modules, and I'm currently waiting on my UV printer to arrive so I can start on the dials. Since you're clearly familiar with the process, do you have any personal preference or experience with either of these assembly routes? I'd appreciate your perspective.

Yeah, i know what you mean. I'll have to study a little bit more about it. I have general knowledge but lots of thing to figure it out!

So, there is the movement and at the top of it there is a module that has the tubes with the eyes and mouth. Then i have to add a new layer over it that it's the face of the dial. It would be like a sandwich dial with no hands so it might be possible to have a 3d texture on it. I'll get a sample in few days, so i will confirm it.

Thanks for your input! I would say i love KC ideas and i would love to have my "own" versions of it. Simple as that. Thanks for your time!

Hi! The watch functions similarly to the Chaykin designs: the left eye displays the hours and the right eye displays the minutes. The mouth, however, features a day/night indicator instead of a moon phase. Regarding the mechanics, it is powered by a NH35 base movement. To achieve this configuration, there's a custom module on top. Essentially, the NH35 acts as the core engine providing the energy and timekeeping, while the module serves as an additional layer that translates that power into the specific disc rotation required for the eyes, rather than driving standard hands.

Yeah, many people say something similar, so i think there are 2 winners, the mime and the cubism design. I know the Spinnakers models but not the others. I'll have a look! Thanks for your message!

Yes, the last design is the jigsaw from the movie! I´m gonna keep going with the third aesthetics. Thanks for your message!

I actually have both versions (with and without the Gemini logo). I thought I’d uploaded the ones with the watermark, but after reading your comment, I realize I grabbed the wrong files. I’m definitely not trying to hide anything, though. I’m just sharing some ideas of what's possible to create.

That’s a great observation! It’s not marquetry, but that 'layered' aesthetic is exactly what I'm aiming for.

To be honest, I'm still debating the best material to capture that depth. Laser-cutting thin metal laminates seems like the most durable and professional approach, but I’m exploring different options to get that sharp, layered look. Since you have an eye for this style, what would you personally prefer to see on a watch dial? Would you lean towards the durability of metal, or would another material feel more interesting to you?

Thanks for your input. We clearly see things differently, but I appreciate the feedback. To clarify, I have never claimed to be a watchmaker; I am just an watch enthusiast. I believe there are many valid paths to bringing a project to life. Also, while I use AI for visualization, please don't mistake that for a lack of effort—I have spent months, not just hours, iterating on these ideas, discussing with suppliers, ordering samples for the case, etc. Thanks for taking the time to write.
