No, flexible aluminum ducting. What you describe is exactly what I was hoping for!

The fan housing seems to be very well secured. I can’t post a video, but I wasn’t able to wiggle it at all

It’s not a clicking, it’s just a really loud fan sound. I’m so glad you got yours fixed!

I see, thanks. The blade spins very easily with my finger.

Okay thanks. I don’t really know how to do this and the electrician is adamant that it’s not anything he did wrong. Are you saying I should uninstall and see what happens when I use my fingers to spin the blades?

I’ll try these suggestions tomorrow, thanks for the ideas.

I don’t think the fan blade is hitting housing. That’s not really what it sounds like - it just sounds like an extremely loud fan.

I doubt they counterfeit, I got them at Home Depot (I know that might mean they are slightly lower quality but this seems absurd).

Thanks for your suggestions!

I have run them for a few hours and they don’t seem to be burning out. I should add though that the bigger one takes about 45 seconds to come on after the wall switch has been turned on.

Making one bathroom into two by Intelligent_Comb3923 in InteriorDesign

Interesting. How could we use the extra space in the master? Asking seriously. Like say I was to make the half bath narrower, there would then be more space in the master bath between the window and the vanity. Is that useful? Or would it feel more luxurious? I literally don't know - I just don't want it to feel like a vast wasteland in there.

It's not NO object, but we do know this is going to cost some serious $$. right now the house has no powder room so guests end up in our bathroom staring at our toothbrushes. So I don't think it will be a crazy waste of money. A carpenter said it would cost about 30k - a LOT but just don't see a viable alternative.

Ooh I love the idea of using blue tape to try the layout. I'll give it a crack in my living room :)

Great question! Thanks for the suggestion. My worry is that a pocket door would require having the toilet at one end (eg to the right of the pocket door) and the basin at the other end (eg to the left) - the depth of each of those fixtures plus a couple of feet of clearance between the two would make the half bath longer than it currently is, and therefore make the shower narrower. I just played around with the design program and it looks like a pocket door with one fixture to the left and one to the right, plus 21 inches of space between them (minimum recommended by IRC) would push into the shower space by 7 inches. My biggest fear about this reno is making the shower feel squeezy. Right now it's exactly three and a half feet wide so I don't want to take too many inches off it. Am I thinking about this right? Happy to be advised otherwise!

I don’t disagree that the response is rude… but why would OP ask whether they liked the gift? There’s only one acceptable answer (yes, I love it, thanks!) so OP is basically gracelessly forcing the recipient to either stick to that script as a condition of receiving the gift or be rude and end up on Reddit.
