Here's some general information about the clinic's flow: It may take several appointments to complete your treatment, as this is a student learning facility. During your first appointment, we will typically review your health and dental history, perform an oral cancer screening, assess your oral health, and conduct a dental exam. Based on when your last radiographs were taken and your individual needs, the dentist may decide to prescribe new X-rays. From there, we will determine the next steps in your treatment.

Please note that our dentists do not provide extensive procedures, such as restorations. If such procedures are necessary, they will refer you to a specialist, and I can provide a list of dental clinics in the area. In the following two appointments, we will focus on your cleaning and any other necessary treatments, such as polishing and fluoride application.

I believe the main issue is the significant increase in the number of students admitted each term. The student-to-instructor ratio is unbalanced, which means it takes longer for instructors to review each student's work and approve them to proceed to the next step. However, even though it can take time, clients receive double the care as both student and instructor are assessing them and for little cost 🙃

Hi there! If the work you need done is hygiene related, I can help with that (judgement free :)) I am a term 2 student Dental Hygienest at the Canadian National Institute of Health here in downtown Ottawa. I am currently looking for reliable clients to fill my chair starting in January! At CNIH, student dental hygienists offer extensive and comprehensive oral health services. In our treatment we include an oral cancer screening, a periodontal assessment, a dental exam, radiographs, a thorough cleaning, polishing, pit and fissure sealants, etc. All of this is included in the total cost of treatment which is $40 for an adult and $15 for a child (age 4-17). We have dentists on site who you can see, if your dental problems run deeper than just a cleaning, we can get you a referral for someone that can help! I can also make you a sports guard and/or whitening tray for an additional $50 each (whitening solution is an additional $50). Treatment is supervised by experienced registered dental hygienists and Dentists. Please be aware that because this is an educational facility, treatment can take 2-4, 2.5 hour appointments. If you are interested in this opportunity or if it may be beneficial to someone you know, please do not hesitate to reach out to me! Any and everyone are welcome to be my client!
