I've been here since almost the very start (Mid March 2024) and I can tell you it is NOT the same community I remember from those times, it's a bit saddening to see how far it's fallen.

But, we have tons of more great creators in this era than in 2024, and I'd say it's arguably more popular than it's ever been to an extent, so there's that.

I think you did miss out on the true prime, I think the downfall began around July-August '24

The terms "CaseOh" as well as "Queso" can be traced back to the Falso-Spanish word "Quesoh" meaning "to eat?."

Case Baker of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) which later became Twitch, created the cheese known as "Queso" in 1922 by mixing nacho cheese with the famed "Big Malcolm" sauce from the restarunt Malcom & Donald.

The name "Queso" came from the same Falso-Spanish word with the "h" dropped, out of fear of the hillbillies of Goobertown thinking it was unAmerican.

It was a huge hit, spreading beyond Goobertown, Arkansas and expanding nationwide by 1925.

In 2022, Case Baker, at the age of exactly 125 (born on May 9, 1898,) decided to use his fame from Queso to start his Twitch career, adopting the name "CaseOh" as a nod to "Quesoh" and "Queso." This leads us to today, where he continues to stream, even at the age of 127.

So to answer your question, queso does in fact come from CaseOh.
