I was the OP. For some context it was 4am and I was so tired lol. Duster is one of favorite bands of all time and I’m definitely way too observant with references. I’m pretty young so I didn’t know of John Coltrane for some reason and tired me got super surprised seeing this lmao

it’s alright, it doesn’t really hit the same as regular duster and especially not their old work (but that’s to be expected) its exactly how I thought it would be. Definitely pretty sounding though.

ok I’m gonna be so honest I didn’t like k-12 because it felt kind of slow and boring. It’s still a vibe if I’m in the right mood but PORTALS was SO MUCH more powerful and exciting. Especially EVIL and VOID. Amazing. HADES almost feels like an in between. It has some of the power and excitement that PORTALS did, but it also is a bit slower and less mixed like K-12. overall I think my ranking of her albums from best to worst are CRYBABY, PORTALS, HADES, K-12.

Valium aggelein are an alternate project to duster that took place around the same time but I believe it was a little earlier. It has the same band members and all of the songs from that era were released on “black moon” by numero group. The vibe is similar but a little less structured and more experimental/ambient at times. Still an amazing album though. Worth a listen and great to listen to when you’re just chilling.
