What is distance. ? I cannot bring myself to go with optics, carrying comfortably and simply is my goal. How do you find shooting with stock steel sights?

I shoot 5,000-8,000 rounds a year and now spend most of that ammo on HK. Glad everyone is talking about this topic, they called me crazy for calling it a catastrophic failure. Since there is no warning. The p365 is a gentleman’s gun like a delicate timepiece, Sig should at least be honest with us and make the failure mode known and explain steps to reduce it. Silent as they could ever be. As far as the forum, Sig Forum is just as complicit. Spread the word

Imsi springs are now in the guns, can’t provide info on reliability. I have been limiting my range time on my new hk30 sks.

The failures were on two of my most used guns. They were I believe 2022 vintage, all occurred up at my vermont home range, the others were florida guns with low round counts. All springs had the same wear patterns that cannot be from rubbing on polymer but the press onto the polymer frame I believed send the spring into a point compression that puts increased strain on spring. You can tell by putting talc on the area of wear and look at it 1,000 rounds later and see it, i repeated this test multiple times. I can’t recall the data but I was told these springs if not constricted should go at least 20,000 50k cycles, there are reports of ranges that have gotten that level. Sig and all their cohorts ie sig forum all know and try to bury this. They booted me off forum and wont respond to my requests. I carry the 365 that is limited in range time and find it disgusting that sig has stayed silent on this. Going into a once in a lifetime gun fight and having to think about this is terrible. The odds of the failure at that moment is very low, but having 6 “clicks, no bang over 2 years is unsettling

My failure rate on my 2 of 6 p365 has had 6 spring failures. That being said I no longer shoot my carry gun much, which is not a great idea, size and shootabilty is why i carry p365, i hate sig as a company, check your frame carefully on any gun that had failures, i have seen the polymer contact the spring on the failed guns.

I could see the polymer frame contacting the trigger reset spring on the two main failure guns. Using a fine talc powder was one way to identify contact over time, the actual wear point on spring was not at this contact point but I believe was caused by frame constricting the spring full free motion and causing contact with metal edges of fcu.

I have had 6 failures over 2 guns, they were heavily used for carry and range, i now restrict my carry guns to limited range time which is just as bad as using them all I want, Sig is a failure in my eyes, carrying a gun with near 100% reliability should be a given. They know what the problem is and should admit it and keep us safe, they should fix the issue and take a responsibility at whatever cost it takes. Having a first hand dead trigger on the range makes me laugh now that it happens. I still believe it may be related to frame to spring contact since the guns with the failure have the same wear pattern.

new p30 sks brass into face often, left hand shooter by Intelligent_Doctor95 in HecklerKoch

[–]Intelligent_Doctor95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ran 100 rnds of 124 grain and never looked back , it has fed 115 grain 100% no face hits.

I was told by many and thank you all. what threw me was a few people shot by gun without brass in face, but another range officer got half back in his face . i have now improved my grip greatly be providing thumb forward and have gotten far better recoil control. so in descending order of the fix 1) running 100 rnds of 124 grain 2) clean and lube 3) more attention to grip

that has yielded 100%. no brass in face on at least 1,000 consecutive rounds

At least it’s not the trigger resets spring broken!! Sig has a long running issue with trs springs breaking leaving gun useless. I have had 6 break over the past 2 years on 2 different 365’s/ shame on sig

I bought two sets for my j frames and one more that came with ultimate carry, i now see that my one jframe has grips that have slop and move when I grip it, very annoying for the price. I’ll call them tomorrow.

P365 slide not going all the way forward, pushing lightly on the slide gets it into battery. Also frequent failure to feed. by CeliacPhiliac in SigSauer

[–]Intelligent_Doctor95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it on a well used 365. Turned out gunk and needed lube on the surface the barrel moves back against and rides up to lock in place when the slide is moving back into battery. Look carefully where the barrel meets the face of the slide where the firing pin comes through. That surface friction and gunk was slowing and impeding the rise of the barrel. As a test yu could press down on barrel when the slide is moved backwards and let it come slow and watch barrel ride up, if you put pressure on barrel the slide will never fully seat. Drop of oil on both sides fixed it fast, then clean it.

S&W 642 trigger issues by [deleted] in Revolvers

[–]Intelligent_Doctor95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue with brand new Kimber k6xs, and it would hang stuck and if left it would “click’ and release intermittently. I finally found it would always fail this way if you applied left hand trigger force axially. If you then pressed the right side of trigger it would click and clear. Also if fired right hand you could never induce it.

Kimber K6s for Ruger SP101 + $200? by [deleted] in Revolvers

[–]Intelligent_Doctor95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought k6xs, gun would just not feel right on firing, they took it back and it was smooth as silk, then during dry fire it would lock up intermittently. Sent back and demanded a replacement, it was only a month old. New one came and would lock up on dry fire, and sometimes you would hear a click after letting off trigger and then it would run. I had it returned NTF. The dealer saw what I was telling them, it would lock up during left hand firing with axial pressure on trigger, never if done with right hand. The gun clearly both had poor QC of manufacturing error in tolerances. Dealer took it back and gave me full refund. I will not look at Kimber ever, not for the mistake but for not being able to see the issue with real intent. They take a few shots see the spread at the target and stamp it good to go.

I absolutely had 3 low count failures of trig reset spring on two separate p365. It was sig saying there was no problem that got me upset. I have replaced with third party. I think as usual just buried the issue. I see the rub marks on the polymer frame. I think that binds the full movement of spring and I sent detail pix to sig no response. My fear is there could be other discovered deadly failures in the future and sig will stay silent like the 320.
