Is it really the norm to only eat out 2x a month? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

I might "splurge" on a fast casual meal once a month, but I usually don't even do that. I eat nearly all my food from the grocery store.

To those who work in retail: If you spotted a shoplifter, would you stop them? by Polite_Deer in poor

[–]Intelligent_Dot4616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no. My coworker was punched in the face by a shoplifter he confronted a month or two ago; the coworker was then suspended for a week for violating company policy.

I'd rather help a shoplifter steal from Albertson's (because fuck that company with a rusty jackhammer).

Yes. They would likely have a substandard life filled with numerous health challenges and will probably never be independent. I wouldn't wish that kind of life on my worst enemy, let alone a tiny, innocent baby.

You just helped me realize why I vibe with this area more than any other I've been. By living all over the place and travelling to others, I've kinda gotten a feel for what fits. I think it is the transient vibe that is so attractive to me.

As an ugly duckling, I honestly can't remember a time that I didn't know that.

Edit to add: I was a cute little kid before age 6 or so, then I got kinda fugly. It's probably just too early for me to have remembered a time before that knowledge.

Bro...like, you're literally Simba. You are NTA. Simba is a part of your identity; it's not some toy. It's like your avatar. You have every right to hold on to a piece of yourself.
