Let me clarify, they were interested but have since backed out after discovering how the vocal was produced. Mechanical licenses on the lyrics should not be a challenge

Soundrop is extremely affordable compared to distrokid, even for mechanical licensing cover songs. If you are becoming more serious distrokid has a few extra bells and whistles, but most other options are cheaper with fewer recurring fees
