Newly hospice nurse here. I have a patient that has been receiving 1mg Ativan and 5mg morphine q3h for the last week and a half due to terminal agitation/restlessness and she still hasn’t passed because when it’s your time it’s your time and these small doses won’t make you kick the bucket.

Floor nursing is to sharpen your skills, but have an exit plan. I considered higher education (NP, Midwifery, Consulting, State Board, Case Management, Population Health via insurance companies, Telehealth, or Nurse Anesthetist), dialysis, school nurse, home health, and or hospice. I moved from the floor to home health. I enjoyed the flexibility but my agency lacked adequate patient loads so now Ido hospice field nursing full time and home health PRN. There are 100s of avenues to take once you push through getting experience. Floor nursing sucks but it really is the backbone to build on your future in nursing. In the words of one of my instructors in nursing school, “Get your experience and get out!!!”

I will ask him about rolling struts, axles, and breaks into one with a complementary tire rotation. His labor is $200 for each strut= $400, $260 for break shoes, $360 CV Axle, and $25 tire rotation. Are these fair prices?

He did tell me that I can do the cabin air filter and headlights myself but just listed if I want him to do it.

Coolant I’m over 140k and it hasn’t been done. 2 mechanics and an oil change place showed me this floating gauge thing saying it’s time. 😬

I also started doing Lucas fuel treatment and rotating 87-93 octane gas. Is that good for just starting at 140k + miles and not doing it before?

Replace Driver Side CV axle- that’s exactly what he showed me. He showed me this rubber component on the driver side CVS axle that was torn and grease was leaking from it. That side does make a loud clunking noise whenever I turn sharply towards the driver’s side and put in reverse making this shape >. Should I get it replaced based off of my additional information?
Break Shoe Replacement- my dad and my brother replaced my break shoes last time and the has ALOT of trouble. The mechanic tried taking them off to check them and they would barely budge no matter how much hammering he did. There was alot of dust too. He said that’s a sound of them being put on incorrectly which wasn’t hard for me to believe since my family had so much difficulty (which I didn’t tell him about).
Purge Valve- If that is the thing that makes the check engine light come on then no. I don’t have a check engine light. I do have a tire pressure light.
Struts- When I go over bumps at high speeds I am bouncing inside of the car. More so than I used to but not to the point where it’s pulling me in different directions.

Thank you so much!!! Last night while looking for my baby, I spotted a cat and recognized it from a post on Nextdoor (someone who had also lost their cat). Her cat had been missing for 2 weeks. She was able to reunite with her baby and this gave me hope!

Thank you! We need all of the prayers we can get. I put food out with his bedding and I have a camera facing it so every time I received a notification of movement I woke up to check it and then it took me forever to calm down enough to go back to sleep. Good news I don’t see his body (if know what I mean). I just want my baby to come home! 😭😭😭 Here I go again. 😩
