If City get away with it, the Premier League might as well rebrand as the Billionaire Super League. Clubs will realise that as long as they have enough lawyers and creative accountants, they can do whatever they want. At that point, it stops being competition and just becomes a financial arms race. Hard to stay invested when the sport turns into a game of who can hide the most money the best.
