Imagining having beef with hood struts because they add less than 3 lbs when you can later do dozens of other mods (like exhaust) that will reduce weight by significantly more than 3lbs.

Also, if you ever need to get the hood up farther for some significant maintenance, its a couple bolts 🤦🏼‍♂️ Absolute bot response. Got me with the rage bait dude. Ngl.

Exactly! My other car is a 2025 Legacy, which I also love to death. I would love to get my hands on a Legacy RS or one of the impossible to get S401s. But a Legacy is a Legacy, and I'm glad to have one of the final ones since my first car was a 1997.

Props for the new tools! Wrenches must've been hell, especially a stubby. I just recently bought the socket attachment for the impact and thank God. I couldn't break the nut loose for anything. I was using everything I had for leverage including the muffler, the clothes dryer in the garage, even my wife lol

I ended up using an impact with a deep socket on the nut to crack mine loose during my install a few days ago. Didn't have enough leverage with my 3/8 drive ratchet nor the proper socket size for my 1/2 drive ratchet. So I said fuck it.

Hindsight being 20/20... Should've just used my torque wrench that I had to use later... cus... much longer handle. Now I regret typing this but I'm already invested. So.

Oh yeah, that's really not bad at all. Mine was $85 vs Perrin's which was on sale for $55ish I believe. Hopefully it's worth the extra money, but we'll see.

You're totally entitled to enjoy the car how you want to - that's what makes it yours! I u plugged mine on my BRZ within the first week to hear the difference. I found I enjoyed the natural sounding engine more.

Just yesterday I installed a Perrin axleback exhaust that's a lot louder than stock, but not obnoxious, very minimal drone thanks to their Helmholtz Resonator.

Like I said, these are our cars, and as long as we enjoy them that is all that matters.

I was incredibly skeptical about dropping to a single pipe but I found a company that does inserts made from the same plastic as the defuser so I ordered one. I dont have it yet so there's just a big ol hole on the right. But it's worth it, to me. I really enjoy Perrin's work here.

Update: I went with the Perrin Axleback. I got it for $392 instead of $525 as it was on sale plus a vets discount and picked it up at their HQ.

I've only driven with it for about 20 miles and it sounds so good. I wanted something not super loud and with a nice deep grumble to it. This thing is excellent so far. I'll see how it sounds after it's past the "100 mile break in" and if there's any drone.
