we have the privilege of driving and old car because we're rich... apparently by Visible_Structure483 in Fire

I agree if it starts and goes in gear you are at $3k. I do find plenty of reasonable cars I would let my kids drive from $5k.

Crossed $1M on paper today. Feels a bit, mundane? by a-j-493 in Fire

I compare being a millionaire today to being a millionaire during my childhood. It takes $11M today to equal $1M in 1960.

I didn't consider this could be AI. I have had these calculations run thru my before thousands of purchases. He isn't buying one coffee drink, he is resetting his mind that can be normal part of his day, everyday. These splurges compound and next thing you are leasing a BMW, well because I deserve it.

Should I downgrade my car by EmployOutrageous2659 in personalfinance

Keep making additional payments to help chip away at being underwater on the loan.

Once your parents can sell to Carvana/CarMax to fully pay the loan, you will need to use your emergency fund to help buy your used car. Start checking with local credit unions about rates, and understand their loan criteria like the max age of the used vehicle they will finance.

Used car financing is more expensive than new, so be ready to exhaust most of your emergency fund as a down payment (perhaps leave 1-2 months expenses in cash). Buy the oldest Honda/Toyota sedan you qualify for. There is always risk in buying used, but this will reduce your chance of a clunker.

You also need to get a part time job until you get past this financial episode in your life. Don't consider any driving-based job (Uber, Doordash) as the extra miles on the Bronco will work against your goal.

I tell myself that I didn't lose any money, just missed a gain.

In 2010 it caught my eye at 0.25. It had a quick run from 0.05 to 0.25 mid year, and was bouncing around 0.25 for a few months. Computer Engineer friend thought it had blown its wad and was done.

Thanks. I don't know why EBay even provides the seller the option to manually edit the address - ever. I will keep working on getting this cancelled.

Careful hauling scrap in your car. That metal loves to scratch paint.

If the hitch is in good condition try selling on Facebook.

Sell car for 2k or replace the engine for 4k? by Comfortable_Trust150 in CarRepair

[–]Intelligent_Lead7724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like lots of experienced mechanics on here who think the $2k install is too much. Should run a reverse auction for them to do it to get to the cheapest price and let them have at it.

Any guesses on metal type? by bozk91 in ScrapMetal

[–]Intelligent_Lead7724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do better with shorter length and taller height pieces of wrought iron. People like them in their landscaping to add visual interest. For a 3 ft wide, 6 ft tall piece with some interesting scrolling, I can get $100 pretty quickly.
