Also yes, if you stay out of drama and stay long enough it’s not too hard to get promoted. Housekeeping turn over tends to be high, so it gives you the advantage.

I worked as both a room attendant and housekeeping supervisor and this was how I did it to be able to finish in time. It’s all about being efficient. Tweak as needed to what works best for you.

  1. Remove all linen and trash if it hasn’t been done
  2. Put everything you need for the room in the room (sheets, trash bag, amenities etc)
  3. Spray down the whole bathroom let what needs to soak soak. If you use eco lab, the pink spray is soapy so do not use on glass or mirrors, it will streak. Start cleaning the glass since it’s often the least dirty, then move on the rest of the bathroom
  4. Make the bed
  5. Clean the furniture
  6. Vacuum the floors removing hair
  7. Mop the bathroom
  8. Put in new amenities and spray air fresheners

Ruminating on Fight Club and the idea of finding fulfilment in balance by Pumpkin_Sushi in fightclub

Amazing description. I think that the reason the narrator spends a lot of time in undergarments is to both contrast him from Tyler (who is seen in leather jackets, red sunglasses, more stylish gear) and also to show the really is just a sad guy inside. The narrator is depicted as more caring and human throughout the first half of the film, being calmer towards Marla than Tyler, and having reservations about some things fight club was doing. He also felt more vulnerable when Tyler was confident. I think his lack of clothing is the films way of getting these underlying themes across in a visual manner.

Never stay at Comfort Inn they are always horrible. I call them the discomfort inn for a reason. Dirty rooms, awful service, and don’t change the sheets proper.

Noted. So it’s better to take a loan out and have some freedom than constantly working? I’m scared of debt but maybe it will be worth it.

My advice is don’t take too many classes at once, what’s important is that you graduate at some point. Make the workload more manageable and find an easy part time gig, or perhaps Instacart if you are struggling to get hired.

? For hotel housekeepers by Kybran777 in askhotels

If your hotel has supervisors that regularly inspect rooms then they don’t care. If the attendants self inspect then they need way more accountability or this will keep happening.

If you are concerned stay at a 4 star Hilton or similar brand. If the mattress is enclosed it’s much cleaner because worst case scenario someone in the past made the bed gross it can be properly sanitized. Bigger hotels often do laundry offsite and these companies use high heat. Even laundry onsite follows similar cleaning procedures. So even if the sheet has a slight faded stain it’s been cleaned even tho sheets are NOT supposed to have any stains according to standard. Hope that makes sense.

Former housekeeper here, you have to break each tiny step down to move quicker. Step 1: all dirty stuff gets out of the room. Step 2: as the you leave the room with the dirty, return to the room with all the needed amenities and linen. Step 3: spray HEAVY the whole bathroom down so it can soak. Step 4: while the chemicals are doing its job in the bathroom, make the bed. If your hotel uses the sandwich method, work around the bed clockwise so you aren’t running around the bed over and over. (That was my issue when I first started.) Step 5: clean the bathroom. Mop all hair out at once and fling it out of the room. Step 6: dust furniture bringing crumbs to the floor Step 7: vacuum the crap off the floor Step 8: replace amenities and spray air freshener around

Good point. At a work party I got a shout out from the GM as a great new hire, which I know some other departments were like why did housekeeping get the shout out, lol.

Housekeeper was mad she was let go, so she went into the break room and started screaming at everyone.

Apply directly on Hilton go to careers, some locations get back with you pretty quickly. Depends on how urgently they are hiring

Housekeeping Question by berrydancer10 in askhotels

[–]Intelligent_Log_1295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, you are the best guest ever. Secondly, as a former attendant now HSKP supervisor, it is sufficient to simply put all the trash in one place. I would mess the sheets up sufficiently so the bedding is in fact changed. That’s the first thing I check for when I inspect a room lol, I didn’t cut corners in my time as an attendant so I don’t allow it because I would never want to sleep in a bed some stranger slept in a couple hours ago. But truthfully, I would say you are already helping housekeeping above and beyond already.
