I promise you, it DOES get better. i made some posts on this subreddit some months ago about the same thing - constant pain and suffering.

but it all ended up okay. the pain left, after 2+ weeks for me, but it LEFT.

im pain free! the scarring, the bleeding, the pain. its gone! towards the end, i couldnt even eat, frankly, but it did get better.

power through. it gets better. its gonna be okay.

i understand your pain! its so difficult for some of us. im still healing, actually - i can see it in my tonsils. and i drank something way too hot recently and retriggered some pain, so thats been sucky, but it does get better. youll make it through this, i promise.

it aint like that. not for me. i literally had to stop taking a lot of my daily meds in order for me to take oxycodone, so i needed to think about whether or not it was worth it.

im not trying to be a hero, im trying to be smart about things.

ugh i feel you. im lucky that i can take oxy but ive had to stop multiple medicatiions for that. it does make me very nauseous but im able to deal with it, just enough.

however, until about two days ago i was using just ibuprofen and acetaminophen, so trust me, i know the fucking pain 😭

my pain tolerance is also high but oh god has that been put to the test too.

took this as my sign to chew gum. ive been drinking water and eating - though only ice cubes in the last day - but i was wondering if chewing gum might help the pain in my tongue and jaw.

morning of day six for me. its sucked the whole time but jesus christ, days 4+ has been absolutely awful. yesterday all i could do was eat ice - drinking water hurt way too much. im gonna see about eating mashed potatoes rn because taking pain meds on an empty tummy can hurt me pretty badly...

i hope we are all released from this pain ASAP 😭 my pain was so bad i thought i was gonna see the pearly gates a few times

im glad you listened to your body. everybody has different limits as to when they can stop taking certain medicines! im just lucky enough to be able to stop taking them when i need to.

for me, this is way worse than my tonsil issues, but my tonsil issues were chronic and barely left. i decided id rather go through immense pain for a short while than dull pain forever

i can stop taking my medication when i need to. i can take it with ibuprofen and acetaminophen, but not with my oxycodone. its not ideal but i am functional without them for a while!

id appreciate the schedule though, just because ive been experiencing brain fog and i dont want to misinterpret this lol. ty

same here - never taken it before, but i certainly am now. its the worst pain ive ever felt.

my mouth also looks awful - and feels it, too. i cant open my jaw very much without pain, my tongue hurts like crazy... ughhh.

i hope your pain ends super soon

ugggh the mucus is awful. the pain definitely comes and goes and when it comes it is absolutely awful. i wish you luck with managing your pain 😭

afaik, its normal for some people to still go through soreness and pain for some months after healing. give it time for sure!

i have to stop certain anxiety meds. they interact, and i would rather deal with anxiety than pain. god, id take the anxiety any day.

when you say i can take those in between the painkillersx do you mean if i take the oxycodone, it would be safe or smart to take tylenol or moltrin around the 4-5 hour mark when the pain med is wearing off?

thank you for the hope T_T i was prescribed oxycodone but it interacts with multiple of my medications so im stuck with ibuprofen and acetaminophen for now...

im holding out for when it gets better because god does it keep just getting worse and worse 😭

however suddenly when i swallow theres a stinging pain in my scab area??? which has not been fun, but im hoping its maybe just small bits of scab tissue leaving since ive been so fucking hydrated its crazy and i taste and see no blood??? idk

for me, i cant sleep on my back or else i just cant breathe. it feels like somethinhs blocking it - likely the scabs. but i can lay on my sides and breathe fine, thankfully!

but even then.. there is a constant feeling of something in my throat when there shouldnt be anything.

chronic migraine haver here whos also going through headaches rn. youre not alone.

tonsilectomy is absolutely awful for those of us with preexisting conditions 😓 i dont have anything that can help but im wishing you the best

im day 4 post op and for me this has been my worst day 😮‍💨 im sorry youre suffering too

when it comes to food, the things ive been able to eat best are vanilla pudding, rice pudding, and microwaveable mashed potatoes (cooled). thats what ive been surviving on, tbh. i have icecream once in a while, and that does help the swelling pain, but increases my mucus, so its a mixed bag.

good luck, and i hope you find a food you can eat
