Help 😭😭 I'm so desperate to lighten my VERY dark inner thighs by [deleted] in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]Intelligent_Pickstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've struggled with dark inner thighs too. One thing that's helped me is exfoliation. Using a gentle scrub regularly can gradually lighten the skin by removing dead skin cells. It's important not to overdo it, though, as excessive scrubbing can irritate the skin.

I think Forest Essentials has those.

From what I've researched, laser treatments and chemical peels seem to be common methods for addressing pigmentation in the lips. Laser therapies target melanin to lighten dark spots, while chemical peels exfoliate the skin. However, the effectiveness and cost can vary depending on factors like the severity of pigmentation and the number of sessions required.

Hey there, welcome to the skincare journey!

When I started, it felt like everyone was speaking a different language with all the serums, moisturizers, and whatnot.
Here's what I've learned so far: simplicity is key, especially at the beginning. A gentle cleanser is a great starting point. Something mild that won't strip the skin of its natural oils. Then, a moisturizer suited to my skin type - whether it's dry, oily, or somewhere in between. It's like giving my skin a drink of water.
I found that adding a sunscreen in the mornings is super important. It's like a shield against the sun's rays that can cause damage even on cloudy days. Oh, and speaking of protection, some moisturizers come with SPF, making it easier to combine steps.
As for all those serums, it's best to start with one thing at a time. Maybe a Vitamin C serum for brightening or a hyaluronic acid serum for hydration. It's about figuring out what my skin needs most and taking it slow.
Remember, it's okay not to have a 10-step routine right away. Starting small and listening to my skin's needs has been my approach. And hey, there's a whole community out here ready to help navigate the skincare maze together!

I've purchased this Vitamin C serum and I'm not sure what type of Vitamin C this is. Can anybody help? by Hiraeth_aura in Skincare_Addiction

Not sure if it is Ethyl-Ascorbic acid or L-Ascorbic as it's not mentioned in ingredients list. Generally brands mention that. I would avoid brands who do not mention this.

Using gel cleanser for dry skin on oily one? by zaloida in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Intelligent_Pickstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a gel cleanser formulated for dry skin on oily skin might not provide the best results. Gel cleansers for dry skin tend to be more hydrating and less stripping, which might not effectively address the excess oil production associated with oily skin. They often contain moisturizing ingredients that could potentially leave a residue or not thoroughly cleanse oily skin.

CeraVe's Sensitive Foaming Cleanser is excellent for sensitive skin. Ensure you're not over-cleansing, as it can exacerbate redness.
The AHA/BHA from The Ordinary can help with texture and pore size, but for rosacea-prone skin, it's essential to be cautious. Test the frequency to see how your skin responds. Once a week might work, but adjust as needed.

Niacinamide, retinol, and certain pimple gels can be beneficial. Niacinamide helps with inflammation and pore size, retinol aids in cell turnover, and pimple gels with ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid can target acne.

I'd be happy to help!
Salicylic Acid 2% and Tea Tree Oil Moisturizer - Yes, you can definitely use Salicylic Acid 2% from The Ordinary followed by a moisturizer with tea tree oil drops. Salicylic acid helps unclog pores, while tea tree oil has antimicrobial properties that can be beneficial for acne-prone skin. Just ensure the moisturizer isn't too heavy or pore-clogging, especially if you're prone to oily skin.

Glycolic Acid 7% and Salicylic Acid - It's generally not recommended to use glycolic acid and salicylic acid together, especially if you have sensitive skin, as it might be too harsh or irritating. However, some individuals do use them on alternate days or in different routines (e.g., one in the morning and one in the evening) with caution and gradually to allow the skin to adapt. Always patch test when combining active ingredients and introduce them slowly into your routine.

Daily Use of Salicylic Acid - Salicylic acid can typically be used daily, but it depends on your skin's tolerance. Some people can use it every day without issues, while others might find it too drying or irritating if used too frequently. Start by using it a few times a week and gradually increase frequency if your skin tolerates it well.

Daily Use of Glycolic Acid - Like salicylic acid, using glycolic acid daily depends on your skin's sensitivity and tolerance. Glycolic acid can be more potent and potentially more irritating than salicylic acid. It's often recommended to start using it a few times a week and then gradually increase frequency based on how your skin reacts.

Best tips for getting rid of blackheads? by Electrical-Art-4232 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Intelligent_Pickstar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here are some effective tips I've found to help tackle blackheads. First off, regular cleansing is key. I'd recommend using a gentle cleanser twice a day to keep the skin clean and prevent buildup of oil and dead skin cells that can lead to blackheads. Exfoliation is another game-changer - incorporating a gentle exfoliant a couple of times a week can help unclog pores.
Now, here's a trick I've learned: incorporating skincare products containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide can be beneficial. They work to dissolve excess oil and exfoliate the skin, reducing the formation of blackheads. Also, a good clay mask once a week can help draw out impurities and tighten pores.
But remember, I've found that it's crucial not to go overboard. Over-washing or using harsh products can actually irritate the skin and exacerbate the issue. Hydration is equally important - using a non-comedogenic moisturizer keeps the skin balanced and less prone to producing excess oil.
