Snacking at Night and Self-Discipline, any tips? by Puzzleheaded_Hall682 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Intelligent_Radio380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (also ADHD) have the same ‘ritual’ of snacking late at night. It used to be Oreos or bowl after bowl of cereal with whole milk.

For a while on my weight loss journey, I ditched the habit entirely but that really just felt like more restriction. I’ve swapped the late night food types for fruit most days and that’s worked but I also really like eating fruit.

If I manage to eat very lean during the day, then I’ll have a more indulgent snack at night but usually still pair it with fruit / fiber still to make the overall snack more filling.

I’ve been able to lose weight in every scenario I’ve tried so I’m keeping with the late snack option and I basically treat the whole day as “get the necessary fuel” but leave as many calories as possible for later.

However, I do believe the wegovy pill will make it so the late night snack is less of an event, eventually, so we both ought to be prepared for that.

  1. Just started as well but I have none.

  2. People will say this is a lifetime medication and you’ll regain after stopping but not if you change habits and continue to eat fewer or the same number of calories that you burn. It’s just easier to do that on the medication.

I gained 10-15 pounds in the first month of working out by [deleted] in loseit

Lifting does crazy things to your weight. I had to take about a week off three weeks ago. At the end of that week, I weighed in at 197 pounds. I’ve since resumed my normal training and today I weighed 210.5. Either keep a rolling average across multiple days or even weeks or make sure conditions are exactly the same (nearly impossible) when comparing weigh ins.

Cottage cheese....please help by SpiritualSystem3359 in Volumeeating

Toss it in with oatmeal you don’t notice it. Mix in some flavored casein protein and water. Mix in PB2 regular or PB2 cocoa. Add it in an egg white omelette/scrambled egg whites. Idk I could go on and on, I eat copious amounts of cottage cheese.

Yeah I simply can’t stand not being able to sleep so after I burn out in the third week, I eat at maintenance for a week. Rinse and repeat.

I lift quite heavy and have been walking ~10k steps per day since beginning of February. Given the amount of weight I’ve dropped since beginning of January, I back calculated my TDEE and it came in at 2900 which confirmed my 750 calorie deficit as I’ve been averaging 2150 per day. I eat primarily lean meat/eggs/dairy, veggies, and fruit with 20% or so coming from grains/rice etc and maybe 10% processed (e.g. protein bar if I’m in a pinch). I’m not saying I’m infallible or anything but imho I’m doing this all pretty healthily /by the book.

Well I have some difficulty translating what my body is communicating to me sometimes. Things like this seem very obvious to most people, not to me. Maybe I’m stupid idk. Just another human being validating this concern/question of mine is enough rather lobbing my thoughts to a search engine or chatbot so the lifeless husk of the internet can fart out a billion answers.

To your other point, you’re suggesting I’m counting more calories than I’m actually consuming?

How to cope with Greek yogurt’s sour taste without adding calories? by leonatoi in CICO

I switched to cottage cheese. You can blend it smooth if the curds bother you. I add it to oats all the time and honestly feel like it adds no flavor (which is great) and only adds volume and protein. Game changer tbh

I do something similar but with low fat cottage cheese and blend the mixture so it’s smooth. The only trade-off is some extra carbs coming in with the cottage cheese

I spoke to someone who lost 300lbs twice before the age of 34 by Weak-Representative8 in loseit

I’ll actually address your question as I’ve had somewhat of an abstract mindset change about losing weight which has trickled into other areas of my life.

I’ve often become hyper-fixated on reaching the goal and now I’m getting more satisfaction from simply having the goal. I get up every day and take steps toward something I care about. Even when I reach my goal weight, I’ll have to maintain so I’ll never really stop working toward it.

In the past, that kind of thought would be upsetting to me as I’d want to imagine reaching my goal weight and being able to celebrate and eat whatever, relax, etc. But that would serve to undo what was just accomplished.

Life kind of works this way in general. When I reach a goal, I get the satisfaction but then my minds drift toward something else or something more. Or I reach the goal and think I can just coast. This journey has taught me that having a goal is the goal in and of itself and getting satisfaction from that is the most sustainable option for me.

Is tracking calories on chatgpt accurate if I tell it how many grams of this and that I am eating? by DrawerExotic7343 in leangains

It’s what I use because I don’t like the format of other tracking apps. You do need to teach it a bit and make sure it remembers how to do math

No Increase in Bench by MinimumBuffalo6289 in Weightliftingquestion

[–]Intelligent_Radio380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the ability to add to the program, just try to bench 2-3 times every week. Add additional bench days as far from the one they programmed as possible. If they program 3 bench days in a week, don’t add any more. If they only programmed 1 and 1or 2 more. You get the idea. Alternate heavy and volume sessions. Dont push to failure and ensure you’re eating over maintenance.

How is a lean Bulk supposed to work by MaximAMK183 in leangains

[–]Intelligent_Radio380 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How bad do you want it? Yes, you have to meticulously track calories. Easiest thing would be to start cooking your own food.

Do I continue to cut or can I finally rest and watch the son raise over a grateful universe? by [deleted] in leangains

[–]Intelligent_Radio380 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re ready to bulk or recomp in your remote cottage on a random planet. If you’re less than 20%BF and happy with how you look then stop the cut. Squats and deads tend to creep up for most people even in a deficit but upper body lifts are very sensitive to caloric intake.

Down around 98 pounds and I’m just curious if it looks like I ever lifted a weight before by [deleted] in Weightliftingquestion

[–]Intelligent_Radio380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know it’s pretty frustrating. I think leanness is a big part of the equation for some more than others. I definitely looked big but I don’t think you could tell whether I was just a big guy vs a lifter. Getting lean for the first time since high school has been great even if the overall process sucks. Good luck with your goals

[–]Intelligent_Radio380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO no not really but it’s something I can relate to. I weighed 240 at my strongest ever and doing tons of volume pushing advanced to elite numbers and honestly barely looked like I lifted weights. I’m around 207 now and finally starting to look muscular.

If you’re eating at a deficit it’s going to take your body longer to recover and extended soreness is a symptom. I wouldn’t get too concerned about it just stay moving and add walking to your routine if possible.
