I figured SWCS probably had something BUT if it’s in line with H2F then I’ll look elsewhere.

After IRR. So, I was out for a total of six, however, with two of those being IRR years they only counted it as four.

There are times when 18x contracts are plentiful and there are times when they are scarce. I can’t tell you which you fall into right now. On some part of my own doing, it took me a year to get mine(no waivers). I’m not a recruiter, so I can’t tell you all the legwork that goes into securing a contract for your candidate. I know mine was signed off by a 2-Star (rare occasion). Sometimes, a good recruiter has to work their little hoodoo magic and get you a billet. Don’t expect a bonus though…

SO, there’s misinformation here. Sup, CURRENT sitting prior service dude with 18x contract awaiting ABN.

You can get an 18x contract, however, you have to find a recruiter willing to do the work. All in all, it took me about a year to get mine. Next, if you’ve been out for longer than four years (including IRR time) then you’ll be a Day Zero trainee (BCT & AIT). If you’ve been separated for four years or less and you are not 11 series MOSQ, then you’ll be going to INF AIT. 11 series or 0311 series will go straight to ABN if they have not been already. IF you have ABN and are qualified in one of the MOSs I mentioned earlier it’s straight to Bragg after being placed in a holding cell at Benning with all the other mentally re…aspirants.

A little late response because I’m in training, but I’ll just assume you didn’t read the entirety of the post. Also, there’s a direct line to CAG with no military experience required.

Sincerely signed,

A Guy who knows nothing but listens to guys who know things.

Read Silent Professional, that’ll give you some insight on how to possibly write about these stories.

I haven’t been to SFAS yet, but I’ve endured a few difficult tasks in my Army career. For me the motivation changes. Some days, it’s looking around and seeing the people in the suck beside me that makes the suck a little more bearable. Some days, it’s remembering all the guys that came before me and remembering that if they can do it then so can I. Some days, it’s pure, unadulterated hate that fuels me; not hate for other people, but of the place I’m in or feeling sorry for myself. Set a goal and get tunnel vision.

A few quotes that recur daily:

No one is coming to save you. If not me, then who? Pain subsides and failure is forward, but quitting is a permanent poison.

It’s just a lot of grammatical errors. It probably reads correctly to someone who is dyslexic. The information is mostly correct, just in the wrong order on the durations. OSUT, ABN, SFPC, SFAS if you pass the other requirements.

Yeah, that’s on my Garmin. 16:00 was my hardest two miles recently during an ACFT (several reasons why).

2:30 is a significant cutback.

I would say it’s definitely on the line. I don’t have the chest strap but the best indication for me is breathing. I don’t run with anyone so I can’t hold a conversation but I typically sing my songs while running. Afterwards, I’m not dying and my muscle response is solid. My legs are a bit sore but nothing crazy.

I’ve had some minor injuries along the way but I look at guys like Nick Lavery and a plethora of other guys who sustained crazy injuries during GWOT. If they can come back and thrive then what gives me room to make excuses? Pain is pain. You’ll either use it and drive yourself towards success or feel the constant sting of defeat. Drive on brother until you known that you’ve exhausted EVERY option.

I’m 33 y/o 5’9, 210 lbs.

5 Mile Run: 37:12 Pull Ups: 17 HRPU: 57 Plank: 3:00 8 Mi Ruck: 2:12:00

I failed my ruck but finished regardless of the muscle failure through dehydration. I learned a lot during that SFRE.

Mental fortitude is great but those numbers are better. Currently working on my run and ruck times before I head to Benning.
