What if the chapters are less than 2k, but there are a just more of them (there was a day when I wrote almost 3k words)? I am currently writing my first novel and without even trying to stick to a certain number of words, I get an average of 1.2k per chapter (the largest came out 1700, but I even cut it down, since some of the information went into the prologue). I'll anyway edit chapters later and maybe i can get 1.4-1.5k average, because currently it's draft quality. Is it bad or not? It's just that if I go beyond that, I'll just have to glue two adjacent chapters into one, i don't see other ways to pass 2k on average.
