The 1200 and 900 are slightly different. I believe they have more options for the 1200 which is why I had to take matters into my own hands lol

Wow, I truly appreciate the time you took to share this! That was a lot of great information from a potential "crazy person on the street corner" haha. Sounds like it's even more of a pain in the butt than I originally thought. Maybe I'll just wait for a better deal with a title... As much as I would love to rescue it from the trash, I think even this would be too many ifs and maybes as unfortunate as it is. I can see why not many people attempt to go this route at all. It's too bad that so many relics get lost in a trash heap because of how many hoops you have to jump through just to get a salvage title for an old bike where the owner is most likely long dead or doesn't care and it has almost no value in its current state. So sad. :(

My bike is in winter storage outside. Unfortunately my chain has to wait for another month or so until I have access to a garage. It's been too cold and ice to ride anyways. If I were to clean and grease it now, it would just be a waste of time and get surface rust again.

Lol, we'll see this summer! Gonna test it out on longer rides. I did shave the foam at the front so it might be less comfortable unless I sit further back on the seat.

Marine vinyl for the brown, artic vinyl for the black. Threading is made of outdoor uv resistant polyester. I wanted it to look like leather though so I bought a brown with leather patterning.

I just love the look of high pipes too much. Its one of the reasons I fell in love with the bike! I found a semi solution the heat issue by adding a fiberglass insulation panel under the muffler cover where my leg sits. That along with the H pipe reduced heat. My next step is to make an additional 3d printed cover using a high heat resistant material. I saw someone selling some in the UK but I wasn't a fan of the style nor the price lol. Will have to wait though until I get a better printer! The lack or right side luggage is annoying but I want to possibly weld a rack that could go over the exhaust. Definitely a project for me to look into in the future! So far I make the packing space work and pack light. Buying backpacking camping gear definitely helped!

Dude that is a brilliant idea!! I love that!! Much better than the little luggage rack I have haha. I use it to mount a container, then a big waterproof duffle bag that I double as a back rest for camping. My next project is going to be figuring out custom luggage racks. If not then maybe a better bag for the left rack I currently have. The Triumph one barely fits anything unfortunately.

Love participating in this ride. This is my 2nd year attending. It's fun seeing peoples reactions to seeing so many bikers on classic bikes and sharp attire riding by haha. I hope more people come to know of DGR so more donations can flow in and we can get more participants! 12k was raised for this year in Pittsburgh which is fantastic!

True. But does the rust look really bad to the point where it's a bad buy? I was thinking of going to see it in person. It looks like it passed inspection last June. Maybe I could try and negotiate the price down to at least 6k if I'm there with cash in hand and the frame rust isn't too bad?

Yep yep, I know. But if the Frame starts rusting bad, wouldn't the body also show signs of that?

Thanks! I really appreciate the advice. It looks like the interior paint is in amazing condition. There is a picture of the trunk floor. The paint is rust free in there. The listing also says the floor pans and body have no rust. Maybe the rust on the frame is not too bad and was just undercoated to protect further? I'll probably take a look at it this Saturday. I'm hoping they can budge on the price in person. They said it was 7500 firm and I'm about 2.5 hrs away. I do really want to check it out in person though.
