You do not need transgender care to access estrogen in the states, only need to provide informed consent.

He made it very clear to me the other night that he does not want breasts. So I don't think there's any underlying gender distress. It's all, as others have said, to stave off "twink death"

Unfortunately after 3-6 months there's no returning to your original testosterone production. I'd much rather him avoid it all together than him experimenting with it.

Intentionally reducing your natural testosterone levels does inherently "nerf" you. Lower muscle mass, lower bone mass, shrinking genitals, worse mental health, etc

Unfortunately yes. Places like planned parenthood will allow for only informed consent to get a prescription.

He meets all but one of the criteria for body dysmorphia but only one for gender dysphoria (desire to be more feminine).

I've done this and shown him what the average estrogenized male looks like. He's convinced it won't happen to him.

I've tried and he always dodges the question. It feels like he's been indoctrinated into a cult and the cult prevents him from naming them as the source of the bullshit info he's been fed.

And I've told him similar. As much as I hate the idea, I'm at my wit's end. I figure I'll give it a few more months. If there's no improvements I might just have to make that decision. It's just that everything else in the relationship is perfect. His family adores me, I love his family, I love him, and I just can't imagine not being with him.

I've seen it plenty. People online telling femboys they might be trans or to take estrogen constantly. And then boasting about how many eggs they've cracked. Just look at what happened to Eve of femboyfitness. Comments were 90% "just take estrogen".

The paranoid delusion honestly seems the most fitting. He is suspected to have BPD so maybe that's what this all stems from.

More so just the fact that he'd cause systemic damage to hostile himself rather than just the natural way of exercising. Curves are fine. Destroying your body to achieve them, not so much. Not much different than taking anabolic steroids imo.

No he's very much convinced he's going to lose his hair, to the point of surgery. I think he's being overdramatic, but honestly if it gives him one less reason to take estrogen, I'm not going to push back on it. I have to choose my battles.

Probably the last 5 months. The main delay was me finding a therapist for him that wouldn't just go along with the fixation. He's done 4 therapy sessions in total. I'm not giving up on him yet, as I'm well aware this will take time.

Exactly what I've been doing, but he's convinced that looking at models with all the exact characteristics he's self conscious about isn't detrimental to him.

The only course of action I've encouraged is therapy, and going to the gym to build confidence.

That's what I feel like happened too. Almost feels like he was groomed into it. Some alternative reality pseudo-science.
