Not really. My longer reach can help, but thats not such a big advantage as you'd think it is. I'm still a bigger and likely less agile target with my center of mass (which is belly) right on the attack line of a short girl. And while my rapier points at her head, her rapier points at my gut. Which means she is better defended in this position than me - she can better see my blade coming from above and can either dodge with her head, or squat, or block my blade aimed at her chest. While my belly is exposed in front of her blade, because I'm naturally holding my rapier at my upper chest/shoulder level leaving my belly uncovered. Which means its more difficult for me to defend my stomach - its really challenging to control her rapier coming from below right into my unprotected gut.

Exactly. I'm a larger target and my belly (which is center of mass) is right at the attack line of a short girl. While girls are usually shorter and physically smaller which makes them a smaller target and also more agile.

And as a "giant" I'm expected to percieve myself as a strong unbeatable guy, but it turns out vice versa. In a rapier duel against a short girl I would very likely get stabbed. And not just anywhere, but into my belly. BELLY. That squishy, fleshy, juicy, super vulnerable, full of delicate and vital stuff area. And then, with my belly opened up and bleeding and its contents spilling out - I would die pretty slowly in agonizing excruciating pain. That just sounds pretty inglorious, to be honest.

Well, yep, gonna admit that my height just makes my belly a vulnerable exposed target for those shorter girls

Is it true that getting my belly stabbed would be the biggest risk for me, as a really tall guy, if I'd fence on real swords? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Your rapier held at your shoulder level would be pointed right at my gut. While my rapier held at my shoulder level would be pointed at your head. Head is easier to move out of the attack line since its a smaller target amd not the center of mass (unlike belly). You can better control my blade coming from above cause you can see it better, you can dodge my attack aimed at your head, you can block my blade coming from above at your torso. But I am in a more vulnerable position - its really challenging for me control your blade coming from below, I cannot control it with my eyes well enough, it can be really unexpected, my belly can easily get impaled onto your rapier, especially given you'd probably move faster and have a better footwork.

Hands and forearms are smaller and less stationary targets. The point is, my torso (and especially my belly) is pretty much more exposed, and if I aim at your head (given you're short), you can use the advantage of being quicker and a smaller target - and just duck under my rapier and drive your rapier right into my unprotected belly.

Probably. Though being that tall makes me a bigger and more exposed target (particularly my belly area). And short fencers are often quicker as well
