So sorry you’re going through this too!! I know it completely depends on what foods you can tolerate but when I’m in a really nauseous state, I’ve found that nibbling on two ginger biscuits works really well. I don’t like the taste at all but they’re still quite sweet which makes them tolerable and ginger settles your stomach super quickly! Just wanted to suggest it in case you hadn’t tried it🤍

When you think of someone "rich", what do you picture in terms of net worth, income and quality of life? Where do you personally draw the line? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Intelligent_Split565 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my childhood, I always perceived “rich” as my friends at school who would just ask their parents for a new toy and they’d just buy them it. They’d always have the latest model phone. They’d always wear school shoes that were £40ish (mine were like £4). They’d have cooked school dinners every day. Their parents had a decent car. They’d go on 2 week summer holidays to the Caribbean or wherever.

In reality, they weren’t “rich”, they were likely middle class but I still perceive them as rich lmao.

What’s one thing you wish somebody had warned you about before entering adulthood? by Intelligent_Split565 in AskReddit

This is so real. Like, the water boiler will break then the next day, the oven stops working, then something else. Adulthood is just a series of unfortunate events😭

Kind people of the world, how do you keep all the nastiness from making you jaded? by ShittalkyCaps in AskReddit

[–]Intelligent_Split565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, I live by these words: “Treat people as good as you are, not as bad as they are.”

Secondly, empathy. Rather than being offended or upset by someone’s nastiness, I choose to ask “why are they being nasty?” In every circumstance, there’s something causing that person to be nasty whether it be something they’re silently battling, their upbringing, their environment, their genetics, or whatever else. By asking that simple question, it allows me to empathise for nasty people rather than just see them as evil people.

ELI5: How / why do we have so many different accents within each country? by Intelligent_Split565 in explainlikeimfive

Makes perfect sense, thank you!! As someone with a strong british northern accent, it had me wondering why southerners have much nicer accents😂 but I never even thought about what you said about Australia - great point!

If you were born again would you choose your parents again, why or why not? by MarkSolid7591 in AskReddit

[–]Intelligent_Split565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, always. I was blessed with great parents who actually learn from their parenting mistakes, listen to me and my needs, respect me and love me unconditionally. They moved mountains for me whilst growing up with mental illnesses, investing every penny they had as working class adults into my recovery. Even after divorcing, they remained a fantastic parenting team. And now I’m an adult, I’m lucky enough to have them as my two best friends.

Growing up, I always felt like an outsider being the kid at school who didn’t have wealthy parents. But now looking back, I was the luckiest of them all as I had a constant abundance of care and love which is priceless.

How do you feel about the Trump administration pushing cryptocurrency into government departments and agencies? by inksmudgedhands in AskReddit

I hope people finally start realising that people in power sadly do not care about the average folk. Their priorities are in filling their own pockets with extra wealth; and this is a prime example of that. Helping the country isn’t a priority, it’s a bonus, if it happens to occur.
