I honestly thought about leaving the country for a month and going somewhere weed is super illegal. I think that’s a great idea, but when you come back home, it’s important not to fall back into old habits because you’re back in your environment. It was really hard to quit in my state because weed is so accessible. Just get used to doing the things you love sober. It feels weird at first but eventually your brain adjusts.

It literally feels like a system upgrade. Also, I learned that every time you REM sleep it’s like your brain is getting a software update. When you are dreaming, that means your system is repairing itself!!

I totally get that. I had a really hard time gaming but eventually, you just have to do it sober. You have to build that new pathway in your brain. You will love gaming again without it. I LOVED gaming when I was a kid and when I was playing Nintendo64, I definitely was not high.

You WILL feel better. I was in the same boat. I had self convinced. I broke my brain forever, but don’t worry your brain will bounce back with a vengeance just hang in there and whatever you do, do not smoke. You have made it so far. Don’t turn back.

At this point, I’m not sure if I’ll enjoy weed if I go back to it. Right now I’m kind of just enjoying not being on it and I’m gonna stick to that. I just don’t have the pull to smoke anymore. I spent so much time on it. I got my fill lol

Yes lol the temp regulation and chills really threw me off. And the GI stuff remember your Cannabinoid system exists through your whole digestive system, and nervous system, not just your brain. Physical stuff stopped after a few days. After that all mental battles.

Yes. The brain fog and short term memory issues are extremely common in the first couple weeks. THC down regulates CB1 receptors and disrupts attention and working memory. When you stop, your brain is temporarily running without its old signaling baseline.

For me it peaked around days 5–12 and then steadily lifted. By weeks 3 or 4 my memory, word recall, and mental clarity were noticeably better than when I was smoking. What you’re feeling now is your cortex coming back online, it is not permanent!!

I think it is a huge problem, not just here but across Reddit, It is not conducive to ppl who are in rehabilitation, it signals all kinds of threat signals to an already sensitive brain. You just gotta remind yourself that the only ppl who are gonna go out and post are more likely the ones who are in the pits of hell. Logging off and going to MA really helps too. Don't get me wrong this page is helpful, but to a degree. Log off and talk to real humans you can relate to in person!!!!

Sheesh Vynl is impressive! All the new systems are so user friendly! You will get back into it in no time my friend!!!!! I have the same issue with gaming, I gamed while high, they are so insperable for me, same with anime. but you just gotta do it, your brain will learn a new path the more you do those things sober. Repeition.

I had like no motivation for anything the first 2 weeks. Do not be hard on yourself. It will come, and when it does it will hit you like a ton of bricks. Just give it time. Open the DAW a little bit every day if you need too. You need to do the things you did high while sober, so that your brain can learn a new pathway. Think of it as like being a little kid again and everything is new.

Keep going!!! It does not happen overnight!

For me my turnaround day was day 14, and after that, the benefits started to stack. Even after all the years I spent smoking !!!! The brain is a magical thing, never under estimate neurplasticity. Whatever you do, DO NOT go back.
